I like that a PT cruiser is one step (well, several) closer to being a pile of scrap, so its got that going for it

A 'ratted' car can be done well but with a lot of modern stuff attempting to be ratted it all seems way way way over the top and as a result, a pile of rubbish.

Just seen this...

This may not be to your taste, but it isn't badly modified, it's actually very professionally modified by its owner and executed to a high standard! It's also on static suspicion, not air!

Opinions are personal, I love this little car!

This car defines this thread! Someone has gone out of their way to modify a car so that it over comes one of the most important safety devices.

THE TYRES!!!

As an engineer, I look at that car and weep. How anyone can think that is an improvement is beyond me. Modifying a car in this way should be a 6 point offence because it is reducing the use able tread touching the road as if you were on bald tyres.

That's Matt's old Reds True BBQ car isn't it?

If you know how these are modified you know that with just a front beam, a set of drop spindles and some rear spring plates this can be done in less than half a day and is easily reverted back to standard. You can also fettle with ride height to your hearts content like you can with a set of coils.

The only downside I've ever found is the obvious rear tyre wear and rear bearings not holding up so long.

Oh and the camber, well that's just what happens when you lower a swing axle!
That's exactly why it's badly modified you nugget!

You reduce the contact patch of the rear tires to a fraction of what could be considered safe.

If you want to lower it, fine. But when you do it such that it becomes a danger to other road users, I'm going to take issue with it.

My children danced with Chubby Checker on the stage there about 18 years ago.
Apart from that the place was as classy as that Rover.

I'll shut up now.........

My dad had one of those in the early 1990s. I don't think I've actually seen one since.
His didn't look like that, mind.
