But i can still tell it's an Aston without the badges smile

You don't add VAT to a used vehicle...

Ah just read the advert description, how does that work?

Dear Aston Martin. You go to all that trouble of putting the nice yellow detailing around the front grille and then you stick that absolutely naff, cheap horrible number plate holder on it - yes I know about the 5mph thing, but it just looks awful. Always something I never liked about the way my Vantage looked, 5 minutes after looking at one on a Sunday Service I realised what it was. Now it's gone and it looks oh so much better. Also, in this day and age, who else could get away with charging the thick end of £90000 then have to pay extra for sat nav, Bluetooth, parking sensors etc. What a rip-off.
Buy a used V12 Vantage, you know it makes sense.

I couldn't walk past that Aston for a Jag, ever.
Same here. Drove the F-Type V8R a while back and it was brilliant - every bit as good as the reviews would suggest, but Aston Martin is the one brand where all attempts at objectivity breakdown with me. As soon as I have the funds to buy and run one I'll be straight into my local Aston dealership and I almost don't care how it drives. There's no other car maker I'd say that about.

I'm sorry, but £1800 for sat nav?! Get to fook, that's just stupid. On a car like this, that should be standard, end of.

Just add £2K to the sticker price and include, for god's sake.

I agree on a quality car and it's the same for Porsche these days. £2,141.00 for sat-nav on a £60k+ car is fooking stupid.

Residuals will prove interesting, as the Aston factor could arguably protect a buyer more so than F-Types that are apparently flying out of the door.
Aston residuals have always been poo within the first 4-6 years of the vehicle, probably no worse than any other though. a 4 year old v8v will have seen 40k+ gone from the price paid.

F-types not shaping up to be any better either, 12 month only v8s? 85k+ car with options, £62-65k to you sir, that's one hell of a drop. They seem to be dropping 500-1000 a month at the moment too, I'm wondering if the v8's aren't selling well, the v6s prices are not far off the v8.

Been looking closely at both the f-types and vantages lately.

I'd like to know how this new one, that reviews quite well, compares to a 2010 V8V, or an N420, I've driven both and was a little disappointed with the drive, nice and all, just not great.

Totally snobbish thing to say but, F-Type won't get you into The Supercar car park at Goodwood FOS, the Aston will. Just making the point, sometimes it's all about perception. Same as some Apple products, they are certainly no better than the rest, they look a feel so good.
Don't buy an F-Type, buy a used V12 Vantage.

The F-Type interior is really low rent. It is totally generic; certainly not bespoke in any way.

While the Aston may have lots of buttons, it clearly is head and shoulders above the Jag in terms of feeling special. The interiors may be the same across the range (Vanquish excepted), but that doesn't make them any less special.

a normal V8V or an S is classy (apart from the fact that it's such an obvious choice for people trying to look classy) however this thing with the stupid paint scheme is far from classy

If you don't like the paint job then you don't know much about Aston history. Yellow on green is part of Astons heritage.

Yellow on green with Astons is like Martini stripes on a Porsche. They just go together.

What does the interior look like without Sat Nav, does it still have the screen?

First time I've heard a Vantage being called quiet.
Although anything is less shouty than an F-type I suppose

Having tried the Jaguar, and owning an Aston, I would prefer the latter over the new, more powerful Jaguar. I like the interior the way it is, and found the Jaguar all over one - rather like a cheap suit, overstated, brash and really a little naff.

And the nav is woeful. Was in a Vanquish last week and the nav threw a strop twice needing me to turn the car off and on again to reboot. It's rudimentary even when working to be honest.

This weekend the OH was using a new V8V and when she got home the first thing she said was 'God the nav in this thing is crap'

Needs updating, now worth £180 in current form. Both of us used Google Maps nav on the iPhone instead.

Who at Aston is responsible for sourcing and deciding on the in-car technology, like Nav etc?

And why is this person still in a job?

This has been a recurring achilees heel with Aston for a very long time now.

It really is not good enough.
