Sorry to be 'that guy' but I think the video of the cornering is utter tosh, they're just swerving left right almost like they're deliberately trying to invoke a crash - on a banking too, WTF? Get it wrong and they're into trees or a barrier. Strange. If you want a period video of it being thrashed properly on track, this one of Tiff Needells test is the one (just wish there was a better resolution version):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URIzYquArAE

Then of course there's EVO's test of our very own Flemke's car:

Fond memories! driving
"The chassis kinda sucks handling stinks, and the brakes don't work, but it's got a good great engine", or something like that IIRC hehe
Close enough wink
Impressively close! smile
Newsflash: Best bit of the McLaren F1 is the bit McLaren didn't make!? spin
Er...I would say the best part of the car is the central driving position. wink

So chassis #023, the ex-Liam Howlett and Ex-Paul Stewart F1 with the partial HDF kit and tartan 'enhancements' that was in a South African collection may be coming up for sale at a Coys auction soon wink

One of the ones that I hope stays as it is.

I'm normally one for going back to their original spec (Flemke's excepted because of the work put in and colour combo) but #023 is pretty unique as it is.

Was Dark Blue originally though wasn't it?

It was originally British Racing Green...

It’s also appearing at the London Classic Car Show this weekend

On a slightly different subject, what do you reckon to the Czinger 21C?

The guy running the company has been a lawyer, an investment banker, started a record company, was CEO of a software start-up, and then got into private equity - you know, that most honourable industry where value is well and truly added by sacking employees, pumping up the numbers, and flogging the business to a chump before the whole thing collapses.
Now the guy - whose real-world experience with cars appears to be zero (does he have a driving licence?) - wants people like me to pay him $2m for a car that nobody will ever need. Can you see why I might be sceptical?
If I ever want to buy a very big bridge from Manhattan to Brooklyn, I might give him a call. In the meantime, there ain't no barge-pole long enough.

Surprised to learn it was Howlett that had the "half HDF" kit fitted.

I think it looks really odd with the regular wheels and not the OZ's. Probably have to rectify that

But hypothetically, as a Prodigy fan. It'd be quite cool to own a car owned by someone I admire and respect. biggrin

Interesting comments re F1 by Andy Wallace here:

Nice interview. Andy's a class act. thumbup
Really enjoyed that, nice to read an interview where the interviewer actually knows something about the subject he's interviewing the interviewee on! (If you know what I mean lol)
Would have been nice if the mentioned video was actually linked but I imagine some sort of copyright prohibited that.

The F1/Veyron video with Wallace?

The raw Chiron run footage isn't available so far as I can tell.

I have not seen such bad deterioration on any other dashpads, is this an issue due to the SA heat?

I am usually wrong so this will be no exception but I’d have thought given how far back the passenger seats look in pictures, the passenger who can get their feet on the dash must be in a NBA silly

But like I say, I’m probably wrong as I don’t know how far back they are actually set. smile

I've not measured it, but it seems to be about 14" behind driver's seat.

Is it me or does the rear spoiler look a bit strange? Too tall and a bit skinny?

(I know the road car HDF has the snorkels on the inside of the supports)

Compared to

Or is because the later (96?) developed GTRs had a bigger rear spoiler (as seen on Harrods and Fina cars)

ETA

Why the scoffing at "Coys" ?

I once went into Coys to enquire about a Cobra that they had in the window.
A sharply-dressed salesman gave me the pitch: all original condition, perfect running order, et al.
After we chatted about it for a few minutes, he said, "There was a feature article in XYZ auto magazine about this very car when it was new. Would you like to see it?"
"Sure", I said.
We went back into the office where he retrieved the magazine, then flipped it open to the article in question.
I looked at the photos, looked again, and then enquired, "This is the same car that I just saw in the showroom?"
"Yes, indeed!", came the reply.
"And the car in the showroom is all original?"
"It is indeed!"
"Okay", I continued. "Can you please explain to me why the car in the magazine photos is right-hand drive and the car in your showroom is left-hand drive?"
