In all fairness that looks pretty rough.

Are the days of getting a solid/tidy MK1/MK2 MX5 for ~£1,500 gone now? Most examples I see are either over priced, tatty or rusty (usually all three)

A Vento VR6 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-VENTO-VR6-AUTO1997-/2...

Probably too expensive, and it needs the 'extras' removing.

Aside from every panel being a different colour, I like this! How did it get like that though? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1977-MERCEDES-Benz-280-S...

There will be a day that relatively Oem ek9's are 5 figures.... No idea when that'll be, but doubt it's too far away.
That one is / was way too cheap. Definitely hiding something.

Bizarre isn't it! It lopoks to be in good condition other than the paint - and it has a very high specification for a 280SE. They were usually a bit grim, but this has velour, metallic, electric windows and head light wipers.

It is one of my favourite colour schemes too, along with pale blue metallic with blue velour and (for personal sentimental/nostalgic reasons), white.

Whoops - I thought I was editing and ended up quoting myself!!

I like that a lot but why would you take pictures of the interior through the windows?

At a guess I'd say it's had either an accident repair or (judging by the location of the mis-matched paint) welding done and then Stevie Wonder employed to match the paint - or worse still the owner did it themselves with the closest match of rattle can Halfords sell.
Either of those would worry me, to take that little care suggests someone was doing it on the cheap.

I've been harbouring thoughts about a W123 for a while now and that interior is seriously tempting, but I'd have to look at the car first for the reasons above, and at the other end of the country to me that's not going to happen.
