I'm hoping this is a typo but something tells me it isn't. £13K for a fking battered Vauxhall Carlton

"The car was restored 9 years ago by the late Richard Mills of RM Classics and has been maintained since to a very high standard"

Aye, righto mate...

https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1033756
Wow forgot these existed! My dad had one years ago in grey, god you’ve taken me back years.

13 grand! Ok, let’s say he thinks it’s worth that, at least give it a valet, make it look presentable and make sure all the photos uploaded are from the same day!

Ridiculous
In defence of the seller, he mentions that the engines have been selling for €9k - can understand the logic if that's true
This, the engine is as rare as rocking horse st. the rest of the car is almost a free added extra.

That Estate version is a proper rare Vauxhall which I doubt many people know exists! Im no Vauxhall nerd so as soon as i read 4L I thought it was a typo which sparked a quick google mission.

Some interesting information here about the Opel Senator with the Imscher 272hp 4.0 i6 engine. Appears Opel were targeting BMW M5 performance (you'd hope with a list price of 100,000DM in 1991, that must be close to £100,000 these days!!!!)

Not sure that applies to all consumers though -- used cars seem to be _a lot_ cheaper in the UK, at least compared to France, Germany etc. All the 3-4 year old ex lease or PCP cars need to go somewhere, and with them being RWD there's realistically only the UK and ROI.
We live in France and have two Mercedes, both bought in Germany second hand. But what gets me is the incredible service from the dealers over there. A 5-yr old C-class estate, 30,000 kms, came with a two years parts and labour Mercedes guarantee, a full tank, new tyres, taxi vouchers to and from town, and a nice bunch of flowers for SWMBO. And the car was about €6,000 cheaper than in France.

Wholly average five grands worth of old Merc W140 S class, yours for 4* that when you take good photos and use the word "investment" a lot. You'd need to have your head read....

The £26000 S2000 GT100, that became a £24000 GT100, is now £22995.

Still about 5 grand too much.

£17k for a car that 6-8 years ago you could have picked up for half that... and a car that I expect will effectively be taxed and/or otherwise legislated off the road within the next 6-8 years.

The proven history of the low mileage is interesting.

Tyres below minimum limit at 7000 miles and brake pads all round and rear discs thin by 10,000 miles.

Either the first part of its life was a tough time, of the mileage was being trimmed for the MOT.

Yes, I saw that - even at half that price it would have raised my eyebrows. Some people really live on another planet. Pure greed..

Nerdy, goofy, beardy advert. This guy will inevitably also have thick milk bottom type glasses, wear flares with jesus boots, have B. O, wear a wooly tank top and named Timothy Smethwick or similar guffawesque name..

Been in their workshop for a rear caliper but needs cables. Replaced radiator support as well.
They've then found a whole list of things wrong Inc serious terminal rot and it's now become a rare collectors car needing a little tlc.
It'll be totally fu5ked and only good for breaking/scrap..

Supposedly thousands spent on an ''obsessive attitude to elective maintenance'' ... yet can't be bothered spending £25 on a rear light cluster to replace the cracked one.
