Honestly that just wants scrapping.
It seems to only have had one MOT. Why would this be?

Probably been in someone’s field for goodness knows how long, then they thought “I know”.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a little curio, and with a bit of love could be a lovely thing for Festival of the Unexceptional (I’m also a BL/Rover pervert at heart), but it’s massively overpriced, especially for the condition it’s in.

That's about the same as some of the M340i PCP deals were a year or so back.

26,000 miles... I'd be amazed if that's not clocked.

125k for 43k miles - or 50k for 127k miles?

https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/14841261

Beautiful and iconic for sure - ones cheap or ones overpriced........
£125k feels pretty sharp.

However ,this immaculate Japanese spec M635i (although it was called the "M6" in Japan and had the low compression catalyst S38) with 6k km on it went for €208k (£180k ish) last year

https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/mu22/munich/lot...

Never really going to be able to think of these cars being worth that kind of money. I had one with 60,000 on it and it was a lovely car very similar to these ones in these adverts. I sold it at 80k and it's got 92k on it now. I still don't think it's worth £150,000 - I guess that's the point of this thread though! I remember when I was looking for that car and one of the M6s I looked at was only £6,000. Rough though, so passed on it.

Reminds me of the Top Gear episode where they were Taxi drivers but drove the owners cars.

May asking the couple how much the boggo looking A class cost "£26000" cue May choking on his proverbial cornflakes.

"But it's the Sport".

About 40k in today's money and long before there was a hot one.

I’ve driven past the house where this lives.
Absolutely normal.
There used to be a 1960’s Ford Mustang parked there a long time ago.

Pity the fool that sold it to buy a Yaris.

I’m shocked a van you can pick up for £3k with a paint job and alloys adds £5k to the price !

£22,698.65 In today’s money ish
And the (special edition?) current car is bigger, massively faster, safer for occupants and pedestrians, 4wd, more efficient, more reliable, has more tech, better lights, better heating/ aircon...
Fastest road car in the world in 1984 was a 288GTO which is 1.1secs slower to 60, 1 sec slower to 100mph and 0.5 secs slower over the 1/4mile than the MK8 R.

I get it's a 288GTO but still.

The exterior is bad, but wait until you get inside.

MOT history: https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/results?regis...
Autotrader link no longer works but I guess it didn't sell as the last V5C was issued in 2012 and it's still taxed. 84 days till it's next MOT though.

I've spent the last few weeks shopping for a petrol automatic decent run about to last a few years and to sit alongside our EV.
I was really checking out the sub £12k market and I have been astonished at rhe prices both individuals and especially dealers have been asking for piles of crap. Cars that look good in photos, look decent on paper rhen you turn up and see blistering paint, rust any amount of small scrapes and scuffs. 4 alloys all needing a refurb. Knackered brake discs and one had tyres from 2011, yup 12 years old and so perished with cracking the previous MOT tester was clearly blind or blind drunk to be passing this car.
Used dealers seem to believe a wash and vacuume is all they need do to add £3k to the asking and then sit back and expect someone to pay it. I must have identified and viewed a dozen or more cars to be kept very disappointed upon inspection. One car I was told had 4 owners yet upon viewing the V5 showed 9.....
I ditched rhe trade as had no faith left in them and eventually got sorted via a private sale from a lovely old gent who just ended up with 1 too many cars.
Seriously overpriced cars....boy your not wrong.....tons of them out there.

Golf R32
£40k

It's still just a MK4 Golf. Sounds good and has decent seats, that's it.
