They won't have paid £20k for it. The Silverstone edition does seem to command a small premium as a genuine special edition. Although it was no different to any well-specced E46 M3, not like the CSL with real differences.

But a 95k mile SMG is well under £20k. I expect he paid £12k tops for it, and is hoping that someone is a real sucker and thinks that all special edition M3s are worth that sort of money.

The advert isn't well researched as there are actually 30 manuals and 20 SMGs, not the other way round. As most of it is a copy and paste from BMW Registry the seller is clearly trying to make a quick buck, and lots of them.

My M3 was with them in the past. I don't know what they sold it for, but it obviously did sell, so it can't have been too overpriced.

Mental- if you took £100,000 off that price, id still think "ouch"- its not even particularly low mileage which normally gives the excuse to add £££££££££.

Such an annoying ad to read... off putting. Its the capitalization of the ad that is the only thing holding me back from "investing" £145,000 in it.

Flame me but I'm surprised how dated and ungainly it looks. Other BMW M cars have faired better. A standard 5 series of that era is sublime.

I know front-engine Porsches have gone up a bit, but AU$125k for a 944T is a clear indication of solvent abuse. Its not even the Silver Rose the ad headline claims....

Not only that, but usually one of the reasons for high Aus prices for this type of car is that, if Aus-delivered new, then its likely to have less rust at this age. This one is fresh in from the UK, having endured nearly 30 of the salt-flavoured winters.

Was thinking similar.

Do people not get to the point thinking that you could price up a scrapped/damaged/old chassis, strip it down, then build up a near genuine car again, and that you'd still be well under the £145,000 region ?
The resultant re-build being more or less 'as good as new'.

Like this one at nearly £100k less, although I don't think the colour suits it

The £145k seems to be double the next most expensive E30 M3 for sale on here, that's just bonkers. nuts

£2499 for a basic 1.1 Panda with a cassette player...

Plenty more overpriced cars on their forecourt too.

Was it a factory colour? Only ever seen it on E36's as an 'individual' option, most E30 M3's appear to be Black/White/Red

Don't know, saw it at a PH Sunday Service at BMW a couple of years ago IIRC. Could have been this very car lol.

Okay - this is going to be a bit of a come down from recent posts, and I was in two minds as to post it. I personally love this shape and colour.

Plus points: I can't remember the last time I saw one - there are a few autos knocking about but all seem rotten now, even fewer in GT4 spec

Against: This looks like it needs a respray for starters.

That got me thinking, at £145k its almost 3 times the price of a brand new one...

Its just speculation though, the dealer isn't really expecting to sell it at that.

Renault 5 Turbo Surprised how low the power is. At least the tyres should last a while!
