If the car and the price is right no reason not to buy off them, same goes for any company, you take a risk with whoever you buy from.

Anyone else remember the thread with the guy who bought a very expensive Porsche from a supposedly very reputable dealer for it only to turn out not to be a genuine model of what it was supposed to be.....?

Very true. Wasn't it supposed to be something like a genuine GT2, but turned out to be a cooking model that had been GT2'd?

Agree, if I was buying a Lambo, it probably wouldn't be from Jamal Innit, from a multi storey car park in Skipton. But for a £4k taxi, line them up mate!

At the risk of derailing this thread, I bought a 64 plate ex lease Megane estate from that dealer. 114k miles, fmdsh, £4k. In and out in 20 minutes. Really easy to deal with, no hassle, car is exactly what it is, a crap car, but great taxi. Paid for itself already.

You went from Devon to Yorkshire to buy a Megane?!?

Deposit taken already..... apparently, but found this on ebay.

£50,000 for a 320d with 260 BHP dressed in a CSL frock. A well known car.... as the advert says, not a lot else you can buy this good for £50,000

The above is quite correct, because only £45,000 will buy you a proper CSL instead....

How about this W124 E34 AMG offering from Motorhub.

A cool £38K .

Left hand drive and dodgy looking rubber too.

That is not as overpriced as you think. They're incredibly rare - think double digits - and you'll unlikely find another one.

A regular ordinary low miles E320 cab was up for (and sold for) £30k so for a pre-merger AMG cab it's good value.

The wheels are hideous, you'd have to go through the history with a very fine toothcomb and the dealer is as about as dodgy as they come, but as a car it's about right price-wise.
There was a low mileage E320 cab for sale at £50k not long ago. I was doing some digging as my dad is considering selling his 40k miles E320 cab in white. I’m toying with the idea of buying it off him in fact as it’s a beautiful car.

I’d suspect they have simply altered the price post sale to an unrealistically high figure to stop further enquiries. You see this quite regularly but why they don’t just close the auction or state sold instead of a higher price is beyond me.

The real question that’s beyond me is who’s buying a 320cd that looks like a CSL M3 for more than 3 grand?

Might have been £3k for all we know.

I’d imagine it’s a nipper who can insure a 320d and not a CSL.

I don’t think it was as I’ve seen that car pop up on this thread a few times !

Yes. Why? It was a lot cheaper than anything locally.

So I guess ‘female owner’ adds 10k to the price
Love it, 17 years old and been to a Honda dealer 4 times = "Full main dealer service history"

As the advert is dated April I guess not many people have seen it yet...
As S2000s are heavily afflicted by the tinworm underneath, if (IF) this one is in fine fettle it's not too far off the going rate (surprisingly high that may be). It might be a rusty dog, however.
Source: spending two years wedging my face under many S2000s to find a decent one for my OH that wasn't in this price bracket.
The advert states that its been under sealed.
Assuming its a recent coat, id be running a mile as to me it just sounds like they are covering up rust.

A very period / of it's time, Max Power generation, 205 GTI with what appears to be a PH1 306 front end & 106 GTI rear bumper grafted / flushed in, amongst the weird tailgate, spoiler, etc.

A bargain at just shy of £13k laughhttps://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-205-GTI/2236034...

I'd be more inclined to think it'll need a new clutch soon.

''The vehicle is immaculate, with a very light patina of age of a much younger car, save for a crack in one of the rear light lenses and a small mark on the front bumper.''

Top money but can't be arsed to fix minor issues. I bet he bought for a few k.

I went from South Devon to North Wales to buy a Focus ST. Only 2 in the country at the time for sale in the colour & spec I wanted.

Blimey!

I have a W124 E36 AMG saloon. Looks like I'd better up the insurance value then.

If yours is LHD then yes. They're very sought after in their home market, which drives up the price worldwide due to the rarity. And the weak pound makes our cars look even more attractive over there too.
