Best part of 10k for an 85k mile 2001 Audi A6
''The vehicle is immaculate, with a very light patina of age of a much younger car, save for a crack in one of the rear light lenses and a small mark on the front bumper.''

Top money but can't be arsed to fix minor issues. I bet he bought for a few k.
That advert really does have the full gamut of back street car dealer bullst rofl

The car was always fastidiously wiped down and the wheels cleaned after use. Of course it was... my names Jimmy Hill too. biggrin
Full Audi history, followed by full Bosch history. So not full history of either then
Turbo professionally cleaned and refitted 2019. Cleaned? with what a toothbrush?
New glow plugs 2019,injectors professionally cleaned and recalibrated 2019, transmission flush and new filter 2019, differentials and transfer box flushed and refilled 2019, new Michelin Latitude Cross tyres 2019. Its been sat around unused for god know how many years.
New Continental suspension airbags all round 2019. Not Audi ones then?

Agreed. Apart from decent bodywork the rest of it sounds like it's been a bit of a lemon which the seller has allegedly fixed at great expense, and is now trying to recoup his expenditure by adding a 5 to the end of its true value.

The rover does look minty fresh though.
The panels aren't all the same shade of white.

And it has the standard advisories for floor and jacking point corrosion on these.

Reasonably easy to repair but no way worth four grand!

Were they even any good when new?

Looks like it’s “Old English White” which was a creamy looking shade compared to the bright white you usually see. First seen on the 75 in differing light/reflection it can make panels look different shades.

Because it's most likely a stock photo rather than the actual vehicle.

A regular ordinary low miles E320 cab was up for (and sold for) £30k so for a pre-merger AMG cab it's good value.

The wheels are hideous,
The wheels are legit staggered 17"AMG 3-piece splits and extremely sought-after.

I don't doubt it. Still hideous.

I know they are built for it but looking at the photos I would say that jeep has had a hard life.

2011 SLK, Cat S repaired, £18,500?

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Alternatively you could have the same car, but not a previous write off and with a dealer warranty for £10,000 less.

I would love to chat with someone one day who happily buys Cat C write off cars. They must be so so hard to sell, yet someone must be buying them!

One of my mates Dad had one similar to that about 20 years ago. I remember it needing a new gearbox which wasn’t cheap!

That Merc must be the winner of the thread, realistic winner I say. Someone could want 10k for an old rusty Grenada but they think it’s a classic, this is a 9 year old 1.8 Merc on unoriginal alloys for 18,500!!! Who the hell is going to pay that???? Forget the fact it’s a Cat S/C as well. Absolutely ridiculous

Yep, so much so that it's turned into a Toyota.
