Not sure how the Aston is 'overpriced' in the context of this thread?
Find me one cheaper? wink

I really like the Orion, and it's pretty cool that it's not seen the light of day since the 80's, but that price is far fetched

Can only think someone copied the price from the 2014 HiLux ?
Also, why would the VED be £0 for a 2004 I don't know
very odd ....
It's a great utilitarian working vehicle and has a rarity given everything these days appears to be crew cabbed and wearing leather and alloys. I'd love it but not at that price!
Why is the Bulk head so noteworthy here? Is it crucial to the value of a pickup truck?

I think they might mean 'Bulkhead' in the rear bed - maybe - like on artics. if you are carrying something really heavy and stand on the brakes, the cargo won't smash into the cab. (I'm guessing).. and in which case I'd have thought any pickup worth its salt would have one.

The Orion is funny but the smile has just been wiped off my face for selling our 2004 Cooper S for 10k below market value

This being market value:

I had the Escort version with the same non turbo engine.
Slow but pulled well through the gears and was ultra reliable.
An old guy close by has an identical orion in red. Parked beside it and looking at the thickness of the a and b pillars and door frames nowadays is scary. Its no wonder these used to just fold up on a smash.

100% not a Black Series/edition
No vents behind wheels
No bulging arches
No 400hp engine
No fixed carbon roof
No recaro race seats
No Carbon door cards
No red magnetto on dash
No alcantara wheel

It’s a fake
I agree , they are calling it a BLK Series to be fair though not a black series haha.

All in all though looks like someone has ordered it from factory with customised changes for some bizarre reason . Maybe couldn't get a real one so got the next best thing.

Always liked the way the Orion looked with it's Cortina rear end. Wasn't a popular Cortina mod to fit Orion rear lights?

I had 2 Orion 1.6i Ghia’s as company cars in ‘89/90. Fond memories of them both, but I was in my early 20’s.

That’s daft money for s boggo diesel.

I reckon he'll got 4 or 5 for it.

I must be from another world. I drove an rion twice; once after someone rammed the back of my car and it was a loan car, and another when a friend asked my opinion of his new company car. Soggy suspension, understeer, very heavy steering, and frankly a car that was light years away from a Jetta or Astra from the same period. Rose-tinted specs are fine, but take them off when buying!

I think it might be a bit less - a similar low mileage car sold for 3k recently but it was a 1.6 petrol. This engine is economical but slow and a real understeerer.
Something like a 1.6 is a lot nicer to steer........( rwd one is a lot more fun though! )

1987 Pug 205 XS, Rareish? Yup. Slightly sought after? Possibly. Worth 10k, no fúcking chance.

it's nice, it's not 2 year old Fiesta ST nice mind.
I do like it, particularly on the standard steel wheels. I reckon it's worth £4-5k at a push from a dealer.
That's possible, but still strong money. I didn't know they had GTi seats too.
Had one of those "back in the day" about 1992/3. F reg facelift. Max power was at something crazy (for the time) 6400rpm. Real pocket rocket. Didn't feel much slower than the 1.9 that replaced it.

Disn't the GTI seats have leather side bolsters?

Don't think it was ever a modification

Mark IV Cortina facelift in 1979 ( officially the Cortina 80, commonly referred to as the Mark V ) had those larger style rear lights out of the factory. Not sure if the very similar looking first gen Onion rear lights are actually the same part as the Cortina 80 ones.
