Why do they think because its been owned by a singer it adds value. Its the same car whether Cliff once owned it or Tarquin Smethwick.

Priced at "mint" money and seems far from mint -

probably rusted to fk as well.
Complete piece of crap. Dig around under neath and around the inner arches and you'll be clearing it up with a shovel.
Loads of bodywork/mechanical problems and totally misdescribes it as mint.
Advertised as spares or repair for £500 and he'd sell it...

It says this in the advert - chance it's ok?:

Rotten sills, rear arches and chassis legs have been replaced professionally by MX5 specialists Sam Goodwin at a total cost of £1,920.

Do these rot from the inside out like most other jap stuff seems to do?

If so even if he has had the work done it sounds like it could be going again with what he claims to just be ''surface rust and minor bubbles''

Also consider the effect on value should a previous owner’s reputation be called into question...

When i was looking into mk 3s, the general consensus was useless you removed all the plastic trims it was near impossible to identify a rusty one s they looked solid on the outside.

''On the rear wheel arches take a very very good look at the front. Here's what mine looked like when I went digging. It actually looked solid when I bought it and it was only when cleaning it for undersealing that this came to light. It was mostly hidden by the wheel arch liner:''

I'm sure I'm missing something, and probably deserve a 'whoooosh', but wha's the relevance of a kangaroo with a machine gun?

Which has been found to be completely false, IIRC.
Presumption of innocence (which we no longer have) is a vital part of any free society.

Woah - I'm missing something here - what is Tarquin Smethwick alleged to have done?

Missed off the 4 X budget tyres just below the Tesco washer fluid.

Reads like a joke but I don’t think it is.

Think that this is “find another” territory again. Wouldn’t spend £3k of my money on it, but do not think that it is overpriced - must be either unique or very close to unique. With older ordinary cars becoming increasingly chic, if this is kept in this condition, it will be worth more than this in 5 years time & much more in 10 years time.

No service history how can the mileage be genuine, it could have had the speedo replaced before its first mot, they were noted for dash issues.

Interesting mot history, it was mot'd in November 2005 @ 10518 and was not re-mot'd until September 2019 @ 10609, somehow doubt the mileage

I don't think any of that applies to a 1999 Renault Megane RXE 5dr.

This appears to be a little on the high side. At least it hasn't got any white, black or blue smoke...
