I think he's a decade or two too early to be taking a stab at that money. Down the line it's originality may mean it could demand big (£) numbers. W00DY said:

Most cars are overpriced at the moment eh.
Market is nuts, and some people paying some stupid prices.
I am struggling to see any Mk5 Escort as a classic, they were and always will be dog shxte.
The MK3/4 weren't really any good either but at least they had the XR3i/RS1600i/RS Turbo to give them some kudos, even the hot MK5's were garbage, especially when you remember what Peugeot were offering at the time. Market is nuts, and some people paying some stupid prices.

I was saying similar to a mate the other day. Anything remotely ‘interesting’ is mega money now. I also used the mk5 escort example. Who would pay more than £350 for one now? Cosworths I can understand, but a 1.4 LX that’s failed four MOTs for rotten sills over the years? Market is nuts, and some people paying some stupid prices.

Well, that's nasty. I thought I'd click the link and see if it looked any better from the other angles. It does not. 1 of 5 Alfa GTV Conrero ?Edition

”Outstanding condition” yet the last MOT has a very telling advisory for “Questionable repairs to OS & NS rear chassis”, although apparently it’s been fixed…https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1334626
