Seriously Overpriced Cars

Apologies if these 2 have appeared on the thread previously:
Just shy of £7k for a 205 GTI with dubious claims about a heritage Skip Brown engine conversion (no proof of course, just that it's "rapid on the road" - and judging by the interesting air filter setup with the AFM currently cable tied in place it's doubtful), missing fuel cap replaced with a universal suction cup type jobbie (as clearly someone snapped the key / lock), and the most torn / tatty interior i've seen in one for a while.

£8k for a 205 GTI with an interesting plush interior trim and best of all currently doesn't run due to a completely unknown electrical issue somewhere in the custom wiring loom, or ecu, or maybe even the engine, but they're sure it's easily sorted.

I'm rebuilding a track prepped 205 GTI currently as my summer project, it's leagues cleaner than that silver one and will likely be fractions the price whenever I end up selling it. My old GTI had 180k on the clock and would've put that one to shame inside. I'm guessing engine conversion but no proof is the 90's equivalent of mapped but no proofJust shy of £7k for a 205 GTI with dubious claims about a heritage Skip Brown engine conversion (no proof of course, just that it's "rapid on the road" - and judging by the interesting air filter setup with the AFM currently cable tied in place it's doubtful), missing fuel cap replaced with a universal suction cup type jobbie (as clearly someone snapped the key / lock), and the most torn / tatty interior i've seen in one for a while.

I know this is only an auction estimate but looks completely ridiculous to me .

I looked up the Isola limited edition , only 500 made and this has very low miles but web description said it was one of the most basic specced limited editions ever .
So not £13K special , someone slipped a 1 in there by mistake .

Anyone for a poverty spec L322 with the tractor engine for £9500? Advertised as an Autobiography, reg check shows it as an SE and a quick zoom in shows it doesn't even have heated seats, odd for a "top spec car". But hey, at least it's a rust free example

It’s actually a “Vogue Autobiography 3.0d SE”, have they missed any trim levels there. |https://thumbsnap.com/CREMEKJs[/url]

I’m also noticing the halogen headlights. The first owner must have bought the cheapest Range Rover they could possibly afford.

............So the story is very nice for this car...................... it belonged to my ex-boss who used the car to travel back and forth to Germany and the UK in the good old days of the EU. Brexit and COVID has changed a lot and I bought the car of my boss as he is now moved back to Germany permanently. I have known this car for at least 6 years. I have SOME EUROs LEFT BEHIND AS A SOUVENIR...these were used at the crossings to and from France & the UK.......
Surely potential for a film adaptation.carlove said:

They actually quote xenons in the specification - clearly don't have a clue what they're looking at. I’m also noticing the halogen headlights. The first owner must have bought the cheapest Range Rover they could possibly afford.

That EUROS comment is the most bizarre thing ever seen in a car advert , it's as if the Euro is no longer a currency ....I found a 1 French Franc coin in my car the other day , doubles the value of the car !....and the car is Italian......
So, I don't know if this car is necessarily that overpriced, reasonably tidy on a passing look at little photos on a phone screen, and £10 each for every one of its 400 bhp, but the MOT history is just epically awful, by a distance the worst I've read for sheer volume. I'd be interested to know where the last one was done though.

Wow, you weren’t lying about the MOT history. When a car has general underbody corrosion and undersealed advisories I get the nerves. That’s before looking at the joke of a price!

I get that some people would want to stick a cheap body kit on an old, mechanically untouched 911, but to claim it is a "959 Recreation" and charge more than a concourse 3.0 SC is properly mental
