I saw one in Geneva over the weekend. They are absolutely massive! So much presence.

Still cannot get over the fact that an F10 M5 matches it in terms of performance once rolling over 50mph.

Either the M5 has a conservative BHP claim or the FF has too much drive train power loss through its complex 4 wheel drive system.

Either way, still an awesome way to travel. Mega prescence too.

Pretty sure that above 45mph its 2 wheel drive, with the front wheel drive system disconnected.

Pictures don't do it justice, far more presence in the flesh.
On the gearbox, I love a manual, indeed I sought out a Manual 575, but it gets to a level of performance where a dual clutch box is genuinely a better idea IMHO.
Can someone send me a link to a Hyundai that looks like an FF please? There's no way I can afford an FF, I might be able to stretch to a Hyundai and some yellow badges.

Thanks

Objectively this doesn't do anything that an Audi RS6 Avant can't do just as well or even better in the real world.

But one is a Ferrari with a V12 in the front, sounds better, is faster and just far more special.

There is a Youtube clip at the German version of VMAX of an RS6 Avant tuned to just over 700bhp going head to head with an FF and the FF just walks away from it.

Amazing car if your pockets are deep enough.

Objectively, the RS6 is probably a better car in all departments. But its not a Ferrari.

Additionally, an A6 Avant 3.0 diesel is probably, in many ways, a better decision than an RS6, and does everything the RS6 can do. But its not an RS6.

Way of the world.

As far as I'm aware Ferraris do not come with 7 year warranties, that's Kia smile I suspect you mean the 7 year service package, and the 4 year warranty.

Ferrari warranty can also be a questionable companion. When all 4 brackets for the rear lights on my 16M had broken I was told it was not a warranty claim item as "somebody must have leant on them", one by one I guess smile it was only a one hour labour job but came to £1700 - "ferrari parts sir" ....

Your Bentley/passat comment is also a tad unfair; not in its factual sense but in the reality sense. It may share components with its less glamorous brethren but it is a more solid car. On more occasions than not, I would walk past the Ferrari to drive the Bentley which still always felt like a special occasion. It's a common sight on our roads for a reason.

Saying all the above, I agree with the general inference of your full post and the FF is still a wonderful anomaly amongst the wannabe supercars and I for one love it for that.
I stand corrected on the service package - I did in fact know that but blame my work distraction! smile

My point regarding the Continetal GT/Phaeton (not Passat!) maybe unfair and I respect you acknowledging my factual viewpoint; ultimately I was trying to show that exclusivity costs - I agree, one sees many Conti's for a reason but being exclusive isn't one of them. Yes, they're lovely places to spend time, they're comfortable, well-built and reliable but to me at least, they're also slightly cookie cutter and for that reason alone I'm not really into them. They aren't really what I would call charismatic cars, just solid ones.

I personally prefer the sense of occasion that a V12 N/A Ferrari provides and knowing the engine is not available in any other range of cars is part of that. The fact you'll never be able to buy one secondhand for £23k like you can with the Conti (or even less that £10k for a W12 A8 if you really want that engine) also appeals to me greatly. The fact you'll never really see many FF's on the road in comparison to Conti's is beyond question. And let's face it, whether visually or aurally, a Conti will never turn heads the way an FF will...

The front gearbox disconnects in 5th gear and above and above 125 mph.
If you put the manettino into snow mode, it never goes above 4th gear to keep it 4wd

ah I thought it was much lower than that, thanks for the correction.
