You weren't there. You don't know what happened. I used the wrong word. Stop being so god damn pedantic with people.

Pretty much sums up cyclists though. You NEVER cross the double yellow in the USA but look at them all crossing it like they own the road. Then BANG and in the comments on biking forums...it's somehow the car drivers fault Hell they are all blaming the car driver in the comments in the video. Such lolz
It looks like the road's closed for the race, all the support vehicles cross the line too, and that is the correct technique if the road is known to be clear to do so.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKdVMYo1H38

Bringing that up is utterly idiotic. It's like saying the same about a racing car being on the wrong side of the road on a closed course.
I don't think it's the car driver's fault, if anything the impact (as harsh as it was) may have saved him from a rather hairy trip into the woods and a worse time of it if it's a bit steep.
But if the support vehicles were getting in the way of the people actually racing, and that pushed him off his line or blocked his view, it's a bit st really.
But don't be surprised "Twofaced" will try and use anything he can to "prove" "all cyclists" are basically as evil and wrong as Isis

Indeed. Using a race situation to try and make a point about road riding. What a !

I've just seen some car drivers in Monaco speeding around like they were on a race track. An appalling display of driving. But don't be surprised "Twofaced" will try and use anything he can to "prove" "all cyclists" are basically as evil and wrong as Isis

That'll be the last response I make to you. Thanks.
Undertakers. Not the profession but drivers who do it.
Yesterday I had one. I was overtaking on a dual carriageway when a white 1 series BMW came steaming up behind me (I was at 70 so guess at 20+mph faster than me at least) and I didn't pull into the nearside lane quick enough so Mr Knob decided to undertake as I was pulling into the other lane and nearly sideswiped me! He then pulled into the outside lane to overtake another car which he then cuts up immediately to take the slip road off the dual carriageway. Complete and utter knob!

why weren't you already on the left before he approached?Yesterday I had one. As I said in my post I was overtaking another car and didn't pull in quick enough so Mr Knob squeezed in the gap between me and the car I just overtook.Krikkit said:
So there was room for you to move over then, playing devil's advocate?
Yes just, I left a few car lengths before moving back into lane but I wasn't dawdling or hogging the fast lane. He moved into the gap as soon as it was big enough to squeeze a car into. Russ Swift must have taught him to drive.Yes, I understood what you meant in the first post anyway. Guy's definitely a proper bellend if it happened as described.
Some people have a real difficulty getting it into their heads that it's best to leave an appropriate gap ahead of the vehicle you're overtaking before pulling back in. The fact you can physically fit your car into a given gap doesn't make the manoeuvre advisable, particularly where trucks are involved.

Been mentioned a million times, but RLJ cyclists. I had some tracksuit clad Neanderthal come flying through a red light yesterday and only thanks to an emergency stop any driving instructor would have been proud of did I miss him. Utter bellend. A toot from the horn saw me rewarded with gesticulations and some kind of verbal abuse I couldn't make out. fking knobber. I did recognise him though as one of the 'street attached' community so obviously rules and regulations don't apply to him or his skiplicking mates on bikes.
Not just cyclists though, recently I nearly had a silly woman nearly bump into the side of my car as I turned right at a traffic light controlled crossroad as she was edging her way out of the redlight, fking idiot. Renault Scenic full of kids and she's pushing her way out onto an A road. Beggars belief.

The the guy I was following yesterday.
Lavender A3 convertible (hood down), check.
Baseball hat on back to front, check.
Playing around with a mobile or some sort of device while driving, check.
Tailgating, check.
Narrowing missing oncoming car and caravan during a pointless overtake. Bingo!

Coming down a VERY narrow road above my village, behind another car, we encounter a woman in(I think) a Honda CRV.
She starts to go back & forth many times to get up onto the very narrow verge on her offside, and takes about 5 minutes. She stops, but she has left us no room to pass, about 3 feet of road,1 foot of grass & then a steep drop into a stream! All that effort for nothing
After being sat there for a few more minutes, and just as I am about to get out of the car & tell her what is needed, she FINALLY realises what she should have done in the 1st place....
reverse 15 feet into a parking space!
Even that takes several attempts
Really dear, if you have that poor situational awareness,& struggle that much to reverse or park, just take the bloody bus!

No they don't. A q7 does to avoid a cyclist, the other 3 before the collision stay on their side of the road. Did you not actually watch the video or do you need a trip to Specsavers (????)Telling someone they need to go to Specsavers when the majority of your posts are absolute howlers and demonstrate an IQ similar to a Shimano Di2's is nothing short of hilarious. Remember, you're the guy who couldn't distinguish a selfie from a photograph taken 2 meters away.
That you find funny the misfortune of an athlete says a lot about the level of cretinity of the minority of angry anti-cycling PHers.
Mr and Mrs Astra VXR the other day.
I entered a roundabout behind them and they did a hard accelerate around the roundabout and exited the same way I was going (2 miles of single lane A road) Just down the road is an entrance to a garden centre, then Center Parcs so no surprise we slow up.
When we clear the turning traffic I see a good opportunity and overtake them. I hear the pipping then see the flashing lights and "coffee beans" gestures from him and her in the rear view mirror. This continues.
I knew at the time there was nothing wrong with the overtake but I reviewed the dashcam footage.
Before I started the overtake I was doing 30 (behind them), I reached 60 as I passed them and my maximum speed (just after I pulled back in) was 62.
As ever I'd love to have the conversation with them, understand their logic.
I'd also like to ask them why they got so upset about being overtaken when doing 30mph in a 60 limit.
