Remember, you're the guy who couldn't distinguish a selfie from a photograph taken 2 meters away.
Selfie or photograph, the point still stands that he is a nob for standing in a busy road with a dismounted bicycle to take or be part of a photograph.
Is that the busy road with absolutely no vehicles on it?

Busy road? Were you there? I was overtaken by around 10 cars in 30 minutes of climbing. You really are a pansy.

do you need a trip to Specsavers (????)
Actually, I'm probably about due for one, but that's a separate issue.

It's still a closed course and so not a good basis for holding forth about lane discipline.

So dangerous.

Uber-knobs that overtake as you are slowing down to turn left at a junction.

Highway Code 167, first on the list. Do not O/T at or approaching a junction.
Colleague died in a motorcycle accident doing exactly this
Utterly futile, he'd ridden for years and plainly wasnt stupid
No idea why he did it

And relax.........

Mr and Mrs Astra VXR the other day.

I entered a roundabout behind them and they did a hard accelerate around the roundabout and exited the same way I was going (2 miles of single lane A road) Just down the road is an entrance to a garden centre, then Center Parcs so no surprise we slow up.

When we clear the turning traffic I see a good opportunity and overtake them. I hear the pipping then see the flashing lights and "coffee beans" gestures from him and her in the rear view mirror. This continues.

I knew at the time there was nothing wrong with the overtake but I reviewed the dashcam footage.
Before I started the overtake I was doing 30 (behind them), I reached 60 as I passed them and my maximum speed (just after I pulled back in) was 62.

As ever I'd love to have the conversation with them, understand their logic.
I'd also like to ask them why they got so upset about being overtaken when doing 30mph in a 60 limit.
Logic is an alien world to these types. They do not think, they just do.

That point never really stood in the first place except in your very very strange mind (that's the polite version).

Have you realised the footage you picked was of a competitive event on a closed course yet or is that other "point" of yours going to stand too ?

Don't bother, I know your answer.

I couldn't agree more, those guys are pathetic and give cyclists a bad name. They probably have no idea what a bike race actually looks like either tbf.

so called mate of mine who has lately become a bit of a corbynite where until that point he was rather apolitical. Not an issue in itself, but he chose an evening when we were out with a group of mates for a beer to start having a go at me personally for earning over a certain amount, that i was the problem and that i should pay more tax to solve all the problems of the country. I managed to stay calm and be measured in my response, which was surprising considering he had not one hour earlier been telling us that he enjoyed being self-employed because he could get pissed in the week and then and sleep in all day instead of working, and that he was planning to fold his limited company in order to avoid paying this year's tax bill...

He wouldn't be a mate of mine any longer.
Its attitudes like his that cause the issue frown

i've been struggling with that notion for a few years now TBH - we've been friends since primary school and we've just gradually ended up in different places. It's not that he isn't bright and hasn't had the opportunities - his family were always wealthier than mine. He's just never had a successful career and has never found something he was good at, or worked out how to be good at. Not sure why that has brought him to the conclusion that it is anyone else's fault. The thing that pisses me off is that people like him, and they are numerous, claim they want society to care more about people in need; but in reality they only care about that because they stand to benefit.

It's no wonder people tend to become friends (once they are into working age) with people who are of a similar socio-economic status to themselves. st like this actively encourages a social divide.

I tried talking to another mate who was there at the time, and he claims not to remember the conversation!!

Some signs there that you need a new group of mates!

Around here, they'd get shouted at if they didn't use the cycle path, mixed use or not.

Really can't win :/

Ferocious or Dangerous Cycling. In some counties there is an enforceable speed limit of a slow trot or canter (approximately 12mph) on Bridle paths and footways.

A shared cycle lane is a "footway" so would come under the same restrictions.

....but he's late for his Uber shift. wink

My daily is a bit of a crap box, no starting issues but it's the best I can afford right now and does everything I need it to do. Maybe offer to lend the guy a hand instead of critique next time.
