Just sneaking into the edge of a photo posted on FB, CD51 CUD

Were I a member of Her Majesty's Constabulary, I would be itching to ticket that. Hateful.

For sure that's asking for a tug and a ticket. That's a good place to start because of course it's not just about the numberplate and I'm of the mind that on stopping anybody with a illegal plate BiB ought to start inquiries along the lines of what other illegal activities the Platee thinks they can get away with too.

No doubt given the nihilistic attitude toward the law that's a prerequisite to displaying a plate illegally instead of quietly apologizing and accepting a FPN after a pull the Platee would immediately fail the attitude test and come over all verbal and abusive, hopefully to the point of being detained long enough for a thorough background and vehicle check.

How weird, saw a very similar plate myself recently!
It seems lots of people have numbers in their names.

I saw today D W03TON. Presumably their vehicle weighs 3 tons.

I dunno, it's not technically actually part of the number plate - but...

Anyone adding extra letters/numbers outside a plate just takes c12ppy plates to a whole new level.

V DOGGY'S ( V D06GYS ) on the back of a recent shape Ford Ranger.

Actual plate was VD06 GYS, with the 6 slightly reshaped to look more like a G and with a coloured cap added to create an apostrophe between the Y & S.

The rear wiper also had something attached to it, presumably to make it look more like a wagging dog tail if / when it's activated.

MC64RRY - on a company Transit van, I looked them up & it's a blokes surname.
I mentioned this one a few weeks ago, it was there again earlier today. The plate is MG64 RRY, only he's made the G look like a C & shoved it together, voila! Mcgarry! rolleyes

Good for you. Always pleasant to see some self respect and restraint preventing a descent into irretrievable Chavdom

No prizes for legally spaced plates 'tho I'm afraid, the only reward you get is a MOT pass every year and the quiet satisfaction of knowing not everybody else thinks what an vain and egotistical attention-seeking tosser you are when they see you coming down the road.
We purchased quite a few WE11 S** plates for our work vans, none have been butchered, if you know the company you'll understand the plate meaning without having to mis-space them.

Owned by a young man in Glasgow. He is called Brogan with a surname beginning with "G" - Kudos for not spacing this illegally?

BMW 1 series (and 116d in particular) seems to be very strongly represented in this thread.
Maybe that's just my prejudice / confirmation bias though.

Ooooo no, It's not your prejudice I can assure you...

I got called out for saying something similar years ago so rather than get involved in an argument with somebody who was clearly remarkably hard of thinking and terminally bored one afternoon I went through every single post in a previous C124PPY illegal plates volume and started counting.

Clear winners by a country mile were Mercedes represented by way over 50% of the total posts and some way behind were Audi and Range Rover who made a close joint third. Fourth place went to a tragically relentless parade of BMWs followed up in fifth by silly little girls Powered By Fairy Dust cars like Beetles and Fiat 500s and quite astonishingly lurid pink Ka's.

Hard on their tails in sixth were commercial and Tradesmans vehicles such as Transits and Warrior/Animal/Barbarian pickups - which as an aside, here in the Essex Badlands at least seem to be exclusively driven by closeted homosexual bodybuilders with an out of control steriod habit and severe anger management problems - and after that overwhelming tsunami of Chavness the field ended in a almost inconsequential and pretty much random selection of other marques.

Pretty easy to conclude from that hour or so of counting exactly what the aspirational Chav's Weapon of Choice hierarchy is, so no, you're actually not far wrong at all. In fact I've just looked the figures up and from 2015 and 2017 Mercedes market share in the UK was below that of Audi and BMW ranging between 4.6 and 8.7% yet significantly way over 50% of the illegally plated cars on here are from this one manufacturer.

Those numbers neatly demonstrate absolutely everything about the Mercedes demographic anybody needs to know. smile
