just a bit lighter ..and rev higher is main advantage i think ?
negatives ..not as well balanced or as smooth in v8s ?

is this it .....seem a lot of fuss ?
The real prize is that the banks need not see one another and there is equal spacing between the induction and exhaust strokes on a given bank. That in turn lets you set up effective resonant tuning of the intake and/or exhaust system for greatly improved charging/exhaust scavenging over a cross-plane engine. The lower rotational inertia possible from the crankshaft is a welcome bonus.

I know its annoying the GT 350 isn't UK bound, Ford have limited the production numbers so much for the US that the build slots are changing hands for MRSP plus 10-20k more. I think its approx 5,000 units for the entire US and dealers being allocated on basis of prior mustang sales. All up with tech package the US cost of most cars is approx $70k out the door.
On this Mustang forum, it appears that most buyers are getting the GT350 or GT350R at the price specified by Ford (MSRP).

No dealership gouging (ADM or Additional Dealer Markup).

The MSRP for the GT350 is $48,695. Add 7 percent sales tax as a rough estimate (some states are higher, some lower; some have no sales tax at all).

In the first 10 pages of that forum, only one guy paid over MSRP. His ADM was a modest $1000. Two guys even paid below MSRP, albeit by tiny amounts ($1.00 and $10.00).

Note: I am not referring to the DORA production documents that some people have scanned and posted in that thread (those are not invoices). Also, note that although some dealerships are asking for large ADM sums, the people on this forum are rejecting those offers and buying elsewhere.

If only they would import the GT350/GT350R.

This is a great video showing how damn good the car is and how glorious it sounds:
