I've unsubscribed from Shmee after watching him mincing around Monaco and spending £60K plus on a stupid bracelet for his car, aka a Senturion key. What utter pretentious drivel.
my thoughts too, i doubt he spent £60k on it, also bizarre it was seemingly a limited run.sorry Shmee, but I'm out....
Fair enough guys, it's a game of swings and roundabouts. On the flip side my phone has been very busy with people from the Middle-East and USA who are interested in them; it doesn't for one second surprise me that PH-users would be the entire opposite!
In any case, today's video is the David Brown Mini, tomorrow's is the Donkervoort D8 GTO RS; hopefully those are a bit more interesting than the 'vlog' style stuff that I really want to get more and more away from in general.
P.S. it's not 'quite' as expensive as £60k!

And that Cloverpinch Range Rover is bloody awful as well. Still, people with money eh?
Harry's Garage remains my favourite currently. He does the rich car enthusiast without being a show off d1ck about it thing perfectly.

It's not on loan or for a review, it is actually mine and set for my car with the key belonging to me.
However nor did I buy it outright in full, I worked for it and bought it mostly with my time, there is no real category for this I guess.
I don't think anyone really thought that you'd paid in full for it How does it work with new cars? Can you just re-code it for future cars/multiple cars? I like the idea (wearable key) but it's a bit too bling for my liking. However nor did I buy it outright in full, I worked for it and bought it mostly with my time, there is no real category for this I guess.

Rich people love to be part of an exclusive little club, so that comes as no surprise. As for PHers, well, only a couple of us have mentioned it so far, so not all of us.....but you've got to admit, not many of your viewers are going to get excited by a 'key' that costs more than an M3! It's just a fashion statement / talking point.....and is actually quite ugly as a piece of 'jewelry' anyway, imo.In any case, today's video is the David Brown Mini, tomorrow's is the Donkervoort D8 GTO RS; hopefully those are a bit more interesting than the 'vlog' style stuff that I really want to get more and more away from in general.

I liked your Mountune RS tuning videos. More of that and less vlogging please!

Correct, you can change the chip in the piece itself although that depends on the specific model of car. I think there's room in the future for somehow making it work on multiple cars though. The concept here is that it it's aimed at those who might be wearing a Richard Mille or Hublot on the other wrist; where it starts to make a little more sense.

For sure, it's niche, about as niche as you can go.I liked your Mountune RS tuning videos. More of that and less vlogging please!
Will do my best on content; as always it's about a balance and that's a constantly moving benchmark.

One of the big differences with Harry is that he tells the viewer when it's not his car unlike many of the kids who are faking ownership as part of a sponsorship deal, just like all the modding stuff which obviously is being supplied as part of sponsorships. There's clearly a market for the Shmee/Sol/etc content, but as an occasional viewer I can't help feeling it's a little bit samey, however as a former internet marketeer, I also acknowledge the work Tim is doing behind the scenes to maximise views/revenue.
But really - that Senturion bracelet. If ever there was an epitome of "money can't buy class", I'm afraid to say that is it...
As a marketing device for the manufacturer though, I dare say that brand association with Shmee150 is an appropriate medium for it to gain publicity in the circles that would be in their target market.

YouTube t&cs force users to make it clear if something is a sponsored video yet with things like free/discounted wraps, or a significant discount off something like a Senturion bracelet in exchange for showing it off on a YT video the users don't have to declare a thing. There's not a lot of difference between the two scenarios imo.

Re: key think, It's a big pointless lump. Tasteless. But I can see the market it targets and you have confirmed by the enquiries you received.
One criticism I do have with Shmee is the fact he never criticises vehicles he's reviewing. You seem to have taste when buying your own cars, however when it comes to reviewing those German "tuned" exotics with loads of stuck on tat, why no criticism?
Chris Harris' review of the 718 Cayman last night was good, he mentions points he dislikes and isn't afraid. Review ended well.
Don't be afraid to criticise.

I personally don't see a big deal about Tim buying a bracelet/key for $60k or whatever he paid because he worked hard for what he has and he has every right to spend it on whatever he wants without been judged. And Tim is usually smart with his money so I'm assuming he didn't pay retail and he'll probably recoup all the money he paid for it when he sells his LT.
Maybe I'm desensitized about stuff like this since moving out to Vancouver, Canada because this city is a boom town for new money Asians coming from China. I've come to realize luxury items like this bracelet are nothing to them and in fact I wouldn't be shocked if a few of them don't buy this bracelet after watching Tim's video.
