Had a fax from TGE earlier, he was asking if I knew anyone who wanted to buy a Lamborghini - grey one apparently, low miles etc. I’ve rustled up a few contacts for him, one being a slightly dubious car rental establishment based in Birmingham - they have lots of cash at disposal (allegedly).

Watch this space.
I am literally pissing myself with laughter.

Aww it warms my heart that you all keep wanting to comment about me. Feels like I’ve got real life internet friends. Anyone want a hug?

Anyway, there were a lot of people at the new Aston Vantage launch last night wondering who the compere was - Mr JWW!

He’s certainly done well to become more ‘mainstream’ with his Formula E coverage and GQ column and now this - quite a big deal to be picked to compere the biggest launch in Aston’s recent history.
Nice to see you back.

Mr JWW is by far and away the most marketable of all the 'Tubers so no surprise there. He's far more likely to go on to bigger and better 'mainstream' things than any of the others.
He never went away...

I was actually interested in this car and found it a welcome addition to the performance market (the Hyundai genesis is superior though and we don't get it, but I digress) right up until I saw all of these posts on social media. Now I have no interest in the car at all and just reflect on it in a negative manner.
Same now goes for all Mclarens, Lamborghinis and GT models of Porches.
Wait, so you're not interested in a load of great cars, purely because a YouTuber who I assume you don't watch has had/driven them?
That seems odd.

Indeed. Would our comrade not buy a certain car because it was featured on Top Gear or reviewed in The Autocar?

Also. You could get the Hyundai Genesis in the UK, but no-one other than the South Korean ambassador bought one.

The amount of people that comment on his videos and insta posts still asking why he doesn't drive it or made videos of it, they actually think it's his!

Anyway, I see Seb has got a new long term test car - a Kia Stinger GT-S.
It seems his lotus is still for sale 3 months on, he needs something to drive back and fourth between his parents house and his parents other house, he needs a lesson in selling cars from TGE.
I watched this last w/end: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIdug5IkkaQ TGE ‘really really struggled to sell’ the 720S, then sells it to a private guy who then makes a very quick profit selling it to a dealer? How does that happen? TGE is no Terry Tibbs.

Brutal review of the YouTube vlogger generation on the back of the I'm A Sleb contestant.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/2017/11/22/jack-mayn...

One plus for the car vloggers though:

"The YouTubers with a specialism - the gamers, fashionistas, beauty experts, chefs and fitness trainers - can at least justify their existence by offering a service. The self-styled “content creators”, “digital ambassadors” and “influencers” who rely solely on confessional material and ker-ay-zee personalities might soon find that personality wearing thin."

Not quite the point I was trying to put cross.
If you were on the fence about something and suddenly Instagram and YouTube gets bombarded by annoying, privileged types, it will and does put you off.
This is a well known fact, its like the reverse of the James Bond in Dr No and the Rolex Submariner... sales rocketed through the roof and still to this day this watch attracts people based on the marketing.

So what I am trying to say is that the marketing people in charge are attracting undesirable types to their brands which does put a fair chunk of their target demographic off.
They should really rethink who they use as though big numbers seem attractive at first, but if you actually study the analytics/demographics of the audience they will quickly realise they are just flushing money down the toilet.

Dannydc2 is a great example of a YouTuber who would actually do a great job of attracting the correct audience.

Also the Hyunda Genesis is not just a big barge of a car, they do a 3 series equivalent that embarrasses it in many ways, seriously I could not believe how impressive the new G70 was... my brain was fighting me the entire time as I wanted to mock/hate the car so much biggrin

I'll +1 that. The good thing for car youtubers is that there's always a new car out to review.

That's the thing Dannydc2 and chris drift have going for them , it's real life.

They track/drift there cars crash them and have to fix them , when was the last time schmee/stg etc ever talked about repairs/ownership costs.

It's nice to see these really expensive cars but savage geese do it far more in depth.

With the exception of a couple of Vloggers it’s all abit cringe isn’t it. That said it must be very hard to create original content constantly when you ve spent all the money on the car, hence the drive thru videos presumably.

TGEs latest Range Rover offering was st in the extreme, half of what he talked about as being specific to that car was just standard autobiography spec. Trimmed steering wheel and a bigger bumper with DRLs . That’s not been done before has it.

As for the AVs collection video, was it the school holidays?! He ll be on Operation Yewtrees radar before long.

On the other hand: Harry’s latest Range Rover video actually told you stuff with is informative. i.e I don’t want the running costs of a Bentley!

Yes, I have to say, I put a lot more weight in Harry's opinions than I would a lot of Youtubers.

Fair enough if it was from that angle, but people have made such comments before.
