Conversly, my Yeti came out of the factory on Nexens which, btw, I regard and have found to be, perfectly acceptable mid-range tyres, but the temporary spare is a Continental...
Yep, Nexens seem to offer the performance of a really good mid-range for just above the price of a ditch finder.I have them as summers in the, erm, summer and all-seasons in the winter months on our family bus, no complaints here.
I am in no way connected with the company (unlike most of the pro-Davanti shills on this thread)

All my tyres are part worn...
If you get a blunt stanley knife you can normally deepen the grooves and extend the life of the tyre. Make sure it's not too sharp as you risk puncturing it.I would recommend googling the picture of a Pirelli or Continental tyre and using the stanley knife to recreate the tread pattern on your tyres. that way you get much better wet weather performance.
Just be careful that the tyre pic that you google isn't a directional tyre, otherwise you'll risk getting the tread back-to-front and end up going backwards when you press the accelerator.
GUYS, IT'S FINALLY HAPPENED!
Davanti have been in a test!
https://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2019-Auto-Na...
It's a limited test, but they seemed to perform ok for their price point!
HOWEVER, the magazine did note this, rather cryptically: "it is only available in a few ways, and we know that the different production times can give significantly different characteristics, so it is far from certain that the purchased copy is so good will be like the test arrived"

one of the championships i raced in switched to davanti tyres, the championship entrants plummeted after that, i personally didn't feel comfortable driving on them either and left shortly after
What championship? Can you explain further? If it was a single tyre, I don't see the problem as everyone has to do the same job with the tyre. Unless you were worried about it failing? Its probably not appropriate for me to name names, but it was/is a single make championship. The tyres themselves seemed to perform differently at will, some times you'd be braking for a corner and you'd end up going deep where as the lap before you were fine braking at the same point, some times you just didn't have grip in turn in and other times you did.
If you lost the rear end you would struggle to control the slide and would end up spinning off. If you over heated the tyres even slightly you would have to park up because there was no way to get the tyres temps down again during a race and what inconsistent grip you had vanished as soon as they got hot. Davanti themselves came down to the championship (which they were the main sponsor of) and knew nothing about the championship, when asked for any advice on the tyres i.e. what they recommended as the ideal working pressure/temperature, they admitted they'd never done any tyre testing and did not envisage anyone driving on track with them

Thanks. I can see how that would be frustrating, especially in a car like an MX5... If you lost the rear end you would struggle to control the slide and would end up spinning off. Firstly this is just a report of a test, not carried out by TyreReviews themselves.
It states explicity:

Caveats from the test? Well, sadly Auto Navigator didn't perform what I would call a full tyre test, instead just covering dry and wet braking, dry and wet peak cornering speed (not a full handling lap) and they touched upon noise and wear.
And further more:website said:
.......Additionally, we've decided not to include the wear testing scoring in our database, as they seemed to give a score out of "1", with "0.9" being the best and "0.1" being the worst with very little scientific basis behind the result....
Also the notes state that :website said:
The results get more confusing in the wet. The wet braking was the same 60-0 kph tested, and some tyres managed to do a better job of stopping the car than in the dry (we're assuming a higher friction surface for wet braking.)
The Goodyear won this safety critical test, which also makes us wonder why it finished tenth overall...
So obviously the quality of the testing / judging is not very good. The Goodyear won this safety critical test, which also makes us wonder why it finished tenth overall...
Now actually looking at the graphs.
1) Dry braking - Davanti came LAST out of all "summer" tyres.
2) Dry handling - Davanti came 8 out of 10 summer tyres.
3) Wet braking - Davanti came 9 out of 10 summer tyres
4) Wet handling - Davanti came 7 out of 10 summer tyres.
No idea how it's position in the results of 5th is valid in any way if you look at the actual positions.
The whole test is a joke , certainly I wouldn't be proud of those results in any event.

Anyone died yet? I need a pair of tyres soon for my high performance Nissan Note (1.6 petrol so I have to be careful with the loud pedal. Need tyres that can handle it).
I've just discovered this thread and fear it's only a matter of time before I shuffle off this mortal coil as I have Davanti...WINTERS...on my Outback at the moment! Tbh they seem alright - I seem to be able to stop, go and negotiate corners in a variety of weathers at mostly legal speeds and so far remain not dead and my pants remain unshat. I asked the mrs to get some decent tyres on daughters car as hers were shot.
Am i the person in this country that’s fking checks tyres
Anyway i get in from work, did you get tyres yes, what i ask. Don’t know she said
So i take a look. Laufen. Never heard of them apparently hankook were selling for too much so they’ve offshoot a budget brand to sell cheaper tyres.
Hmmmm
