I don't believe Astons are aimed at people who have to have the fastest thing on the road.
Astons are about luxury, style and then performance. Mature adults basically.
used to be, they smack of footballer to me these days, much like Bentley.

last real Aston:
You are of course entitled to that opinion, however wrong it is wink Seriously though, that new DB11 is very much a real Aston, swift, stunning, and very classy indeed. If you don't like it, what would you prefer Aston to make as a replacement to the DB9 as I think they've nailed it.

I don't dislike the look of DB9, the problem is it's simply not that great a car, they really needed to spend more money on developing it.

Why is this engine so underpowered for its capacity? The previous N/A V12 had incredibly low HP compared to AM's rivals but I figured this was just due to the fact it was a derivative of such an old design. This brand new unit is already down on power compared to, for example the 488 GTB, despite being so much higher capacity.

Are AM not able to produce a better performing engine for the money, or are they leaving room for a DBS/Vanquish do you think?
Why are you comparing the 488 to a DB11. Different cars totally.
As others have said its certainly not power, power with a Aston although saying that no Aston is exactly lacking in that respect.
Wait until the Vantage replacement comes out and then do some worthwhile comparisons.

I hope they drop the idea of the "silver highlights" sooner rather than later. I was checking out the configurator earlier and the only way i could make the roof work was to make the beams black and the roof panel black ala early NSX.
Looks pretty good in 'Arden Green', would look even better if the pillars could be painted in body colour.

They can, although the configurator doesn't seem to show it. Explain to you dealer what you want.

The more I see pictures, the more I like it. Even the back end seems ok to me now. I'm sure its going to be great in real life.

Nah, i'd still rather have a DB9 or DB7.

me too,

These rear 3/4 shots in varying colour combos, whilst trying to hide the roof/pillar treatment in dark colours, just show up the dumpy blandness of the new direction. It's all about the 'face' and the rear light graphic, which for me aren't progressive (enough) from the previous generation. (DB10 was more progressive)
So what if the DB9 era was 10 years old, it's still more lithe, athletic and stylish than this. This flabby stealth fighter imagery is not for me. frown

Which must really bother Aston Martin seeing as I'm critiquing their highly skilled and qualified design engineers from my sofa safe in the knowledge I'll NEVER be in a position to buy one hehe

Really nice car, I approve of everything except the interior.

Looks cheap IMHO

Followed this earlier today, and to be honest, without the camouflage I probably wouldn't have known it was a new model. redface

It did its job then - made you take notice and remind many people on PH that there is a new Aston available soon, why not order one wink

Why not? A) I can't say it does that much for me, and B) I can't afford one. Mainly the latter... hehe
