RE: BMW M2: Review
Discussion
Sounds great too, as demonstrated in this review by Shmee. Decent bit of noise from 14m 34s. Take note Porsche!

It looks good in these photos but I thought it looked too much like any other m sport 2 series when I saw it.
I get the impression it's a car that is at its best when you are exploiting the handling, something that's very hard to do on public roads. You're more likely to get away with exploiting outrigh speed or acceleration and reading between the lines it seems the mlites are just as good at that.
Still seems like the best option in this sector against the rs3 and a/cla amg mercs.

What are the predictions for used values? It's not a limited production model, is it?
Hoping it'll follow the E36 and E46 M3s price wise..... bottom out at 5-6k so I can jump on the bandwagon in the futureAOK said:

I was thinking much more long term really

It's not a limited run car, so I can't see how in the long term they won't depreciate as per any other M car? Although current 1M values suggest they might hold their value better than others. There were only 450 1Ms though, whereas there's 1,900 of these coming to the UK. That probably happens with a lot of new cars, speculators just trying to make a few pounds.

Only time will tell I suppose

Looks lovely, sounds pretty good and is quick too. Those rear seats transform it from selfish luxury to viable 2nd family car.
If the controls are weighted nicely (some feel through the steering, brakes not too grabby, manual gearbox not too rubbery) it could be my perfect next car.
There isn't much mention of the steering. It's the one area that BMW don't seem able to get right at the moment in my opinion. If the controls are weighted nicely (some feel through the steering, brakes not too grabby, manual gearbox not too rubbery) it could be my perfect next car.

Motor Trend Channel touches on it... along the lines of, if electrically assisted steering was like this from the beginning, no one would have ever complained. If you can bear the American accents: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wP5z2cJ5aqk

Steering feel in mainstream cars is dead. I think journalists have stopped mentioning it because saying the same thing about every single car they review gets a bit boring for most readers. In a few years time, no-one will remember that steering ever used to tell you anything about front grip levels.
