What's happened to the crappy plates thread? Looks like it was closed due a silly little argument between a couple of angry children.....
Yep, a couple of chavplaters wanted the thread closed and it looks like they got their wish, by one means or another. Most odd.
I really don't have a problem with so called "illegal plates."
By changing the spacing you may well make the plate more memorable, thus if you were to commit a crime your plate is more likely
to be remembered and reported to the Police by Joe Public.
( I'm talking real crime like mowing down an old lady on a zebra crossing )
Tiny plates aimed at avoiding speed cameras are another issue.
Even those on ego trips and have plates that reflect their names, so what? If Fred Smith wants FS1 then let him.

Then the original thread was not for you.....By changing the spacing you may well make the plate more memorable, thus if you were to commit a crime your plate is more likely

I read the crappy plates thread and the good plates thread. I can smile at both viewpoints.
My toy is on a "Q" and although that would bother some it doesn't me. In fact once again, quite the reverse. Almost no emissions regs.

No conspiracy. I've thought for a long time there was a third variety of plate, namely the not strictly legal amusing plates that most of us would forgive.
Exactly. Even the original bad plates thread from years ago was started as a laugh to see what was created with spacing, caps, etc. It's just meant to be a bit of fun / banter not consistent bickering over the legalities, etc. Posters on both sides of the argument seem to take it far too seriously rather than just accepting it for what it was intended to be.Anyway, speaking of funny plates, I saw a 997 Porsche with the plate FAT7Y this morning and that made me chuckle
