Yep I'd like to know more too, these some how passed me by at the time.
Just googled the weight and found this:
'The stock leather shift knob was replaced with a sculpted titanium piece. Overall, Honda managed to remove approximately 120 kg (265 lb) of weight, giving the NSX-R a final weight of 1,230 kg.'
Impressive.

They weren't sold in the UK so weren't really on the radar. There was press coverage - Honda brought over one car. They never did official imports though. A few more personal imports now. Until not so long ago there were only 3 or 4 cars in the UK - only one of the fixed light NA2s.Just googled the weight and found this:

Always wanted an NSX. They came out when I was a teenager I think and first getting into cars, and I always loved them.
A while back they seemed to have escaped the stupid rises we've seen, but I dare say they have now caught up (I have no ideas of values, but still want one, more than most other cars).
(I'm just referencing the "normal" NSX (if there is such a thing), vs the -R).
I seem to remember Modern Classics did an article a few months ago?

Spotted that just now, will watch tonight Voyage Voyage!
Worth a watch if you've not seen it before for the old motors being 'used'
Off to watch 'How about a lift, old boy?' starring Stirling Moss now to round the nostalgia off
Re the Lotus Cortina I remember reading Car magazine when Jamie Kitman used to write for it (as did Alexi Sayle) and he used his to drive to watch the Brooklyn Dodgers as he could safely park it anywhere as nobody knew what it was.
Whilst I'm reminiscing about magazines, there was a great article in Performance car about the NSX-R against the 964 RS back when they were cheaper than Boxters about how the 'R was a great road car, the RS was too hard for the road but on track the RS was superb.
I remember thinking then that I would very much like an RS. Still thinking it.
