They are all manual, just clutchless paddles, and the paddles are fine when pushing on. Spanish was only sold in the US.
They are more than dynamic enough when you consider the touring is pretty vast and they are a shade under 2 tonnes, I doubt there is much with the load carrying and weight that could be much more dynamic.
They aren't really that unreliable either, don't believe the hype. They like all initially expensive highly strung cars can produce big bills, it has cost less in 3 years than a Boxster in 4 months.... It has had a release bearing and clutch, a headlight, tailgate struts. They do need a bit of use though.
7 Touring's up for sale on Autotrader is a lot though, do they know something we don't? impending F90 M5 Touring?
Also, FBMWW..... That is all you need!
NB the 850, that is a vast sum of money for something that doesn't sound like it excels anywhere other than looking pretty fabulous and is surely at the very top of its future money.

Ref 850 Csi, not for me thanks, at that price level for a classic BMW I think rather have this and spend the rest on the 'right' wheels.

Well I think it's quite clear that you missed a bargain!
Not on my terms as I took advice on how they drive from a long term owner and friend and instead bought a car I really wanted.ATM said:

This seems quite reasonably priced given some recent sales of M635's, but given the mileage a new owner will be facing an imminent c£5k bill to replace the timing chain and sprockets and preserve the engines longevity.https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

But now you memtion it, just had a better look, the DB7? Hasn't someone on here got one? and didn't JC have one too.
DB7 V12 Vantage.I did indeed have one, and it so happens that rejn now owns the self same car.
The ultimate in Threadist recycling.
E46 M3 performance I can reliably state

We had an E28 (I think) a while ago. I'm guessing it's the E34 equivalent of that and, as such, not as exciting as it first seems. What do you think it is?

Yep there can’t be many better value manual V12 cars than the DB7 Vantage. The DB7 is such a beautiful car, too. The “thread DB7” has not long had it’s annual going over and I’m happy to report all remains well.
I did have passing thoughts about replacing it with something modern and flat 6... am I mad?

I've got a massive itch for a full fat Range Rover L322. Having watched the Harry's garage vid, and been in Harry's, it seems the 3.6 TDV8 is the model to go for.
Found this one that looks like an absolute peach

We had one (a 3.6) and loved it. We had it when child number 2 was very young and I recall how at times it felt like the only time when the family were all relaxed was when we were in the car.Found this one that looks like an absolute peach

I can’t remember exactly but the performance/economy seemed amazing - something like 95mph cruise control on European motorways gave 35mpg.
Would have one again without thinking too much about it.
ETA: As mentioned above the infitainment system felt very old 5 years ago.
And one final thought: they didn’t/don’t have a reputation for being the most reliable. And I guess even nice low mileage cars - like the one you posted - are getting on a bit. I’d imagine it’s quite easy for them to throw a £2k bill...

No experience of a DB7, but some in a DB11 & 991.1 GT3... very different cars, but both very enjoyable in their own way.Edited by rejn on Thursday 9th August 16:36
Thanks Rejn. I'm ready for big bills. Made up my mind to get one but decided these are the musts:
- FSH
- Green with sand leather and wood veneers
- tow bar
- 20" wheels
- no more than 110k miles
just need to find the right one and write out the cheque. Looking forward to more family relaxation
