Shame it's LHD and has a load of carbon fibre extras (which I really don't like), but a very nice R8 V8 manual finished in dark green with light interior .

The Evora is the most driftable mid engined car I have ever driven. Love 'em.

ike Cerberus, however this week, I am mostly coveting Tamoras. Feel like there's a Speed Six itch to scratch, despite all the health warnings, and such a pretty, pretty thing.
TVR got it so right with the design of the Cerbera, such a beautiful shape, nice colour too, is that highland pearl? Because the market is in free fall. Particularly high end stuff. Huge oversupply and an awful lot of cars sold to folks buying on credit who did not expect and can not afford the depreciation.
Mac 720 down to £180k, 991.2 GT3s at list etc. It’s only going one way for tne next 6 months I think.
Hoping to pick up some bargains in jan / feb.

There are numerous threads on here about Mac values and their being utterly undermined by the massive discounts and incentives offered to new buyers. Their business model is dubious in terms of long term appeal IMO. There are similar threads with regard to 991 GT3s and the apparent solidity.
Whilst there are no doubt numerous individuals who are exposed and bailing out they tend to be attracted into certain sectors. There will be some deals to be had, as there are at any time, but to suggest a free-falling market as a whole may be wishful thinking. It has definitely slowed, speculation has been damped out and as a consequence the silliness has stopped, for a while. However, there are still an awful lot of people with a heap of disposable income. A correction of some sort, yes. Free-fall? Not IMO.

Is this a case of “something something Muhammad, something something mountain”?

Sitting on the sofa for a week with a laptop is dangerous. Trying to decide on something that gets me excited, and can be used for weekend and holiday trips.
Musings part 1:
Maserati Quattroporte 4.7S or GTS
Great sounding, good looking car - comfy and spacious. Ticks all the boxes except luggage space. Can't decide if I really need the space. If I do, maybe it needs to be an estate.
C63 507 Estate
Feels a bit more special than the regular C63 but I'm not sure if it's worth the premium (for me). Perhaps a regular C63 will do so I don't have to fuss over it as much. Rear seat space is perhaps a little cramped though. Thinking about it, the little ones are little anyway, so might as well go for something a bit more interesting:
Ferrari 400i
Plenty of rear leg room, great sound. Perfect road trip-mobile! However, could be maintenance heavy....so what is more reliable
Lexus GS F
Really like these. Is this the perfect compromise in terms of interesting, rare, comfortable, spacious, reliable?
Sub 60k mile M5 tourings
I love the insanity of this car, but I don't think it will satisfy like some of the earlier options
Bentley Turbo R
This has been calling me for a looong time. Would love this for trips but would I crave something that handles? But do I need to spend so much?
Sub 10k GBP E55
High mileage but thoroughly useable, interesting, reliable (relatively speaking), fewer rust issues than similar vintage E39 M5. Good looking too.
Any insights welcomed

I’ve got a C63 507 wagon. It’s fabulous. I toy with the occasional idea of selling it but I just can’t. The engine is magnificent and will not be replaced with something comparable (ever?) again. The way it changes gear at the red line and thunder cracks through the exhaust is utterly intoxicating. I’ve got the aftermarket LSD, having driven open diff for a month or so: Absolutely essential and turns the car into a big friendly bear. It will bite if you’re silly but otherwise it’s face splittingly fun. C63 507 Estate

It looks menacing, with a large grill and flared arches. People often move over and let it through. Then they see the full wagon shape moving past and hear the noise once its in front. What the heck was that?
Inside it’s pretty comfortable. C class interior with a reasonable boot. Perfect for weekend errands, trips out and holidays. Rear legroom, as you point out, iant generous but it’s sufficient for kids. Radio, satnav, auto, cruise - all fine but not standout.
Such a special thing. Try it and then try not to love it
That is a fine looking 400. A quick google suggests they weigh around 1800kg! I fear it might feel a bit boaty around the corners and there is probably very little out there in the way of aftermarket suspension upgrades. I'd certainly like to take one for a drive to see how they feel.
If trips over the channel were included I think i would go for a Quattroporte. They're a big car but with the engine behind the front axle they might have a nicer front end feel and balance than the AMGs.
