This thread always cheers me up. Like coming home to find a copy of your favourite magazine on the door mat and a glass of the good stuff on the side table.
Anyway, thread purchase alert. Slightly impulsively I have acquired something semi interesting with a thirst for super (11 empeegees in traffic) and disproportionate bork potential (timing chain tensioners anyone?). Lord have mercy on my wallet. Sounds nice though.
Prize for correct guess is TBD but unlikely to extend beyond self-sooth of smugness. Hint: Very same car featured on PH a few years back as belonged to another PHer.

That R129 looks tasty.
My purchase has fewer cylinders - big clue: 40 valves.
And I wish I could afford an S85 but this car effectively has the same potential to throw purchase price matching bills should the mood take it! It has been looked after well from heart I can tell so we’ll see...

Some great posting chaps, love the Hawk 289 rep.
For me a 964 RS has to be Rubystone
In the early 90's a good mate worked for Porsche East London in Mile End and rocked up at my folks house in the UK press car when they 1st came out, we were both 20. His boss had given it to him for the weekend to have some fun, crazy to think about it now. After a few hours of hooning he dropped me off in Epping then drove up the M11 to his girlfriend in Cambridge at about 1am, upon arrival and still buzzing he called me to say he'd arrived, I said bullst you only dropped me off about 25 mins ago ! Apparently they are very stable at about 160mph, loved that car, to think they were £20k or thereabouts once.
The colour actually got me thinking for my Beat project but then I also do like the Amaranth Violet on the 968 CS Loon posted. Porsche really do have great colours in their back catalogue.
DM good to see you have dealt, I am going RS6 also.
