My other half talked to Kevin T when they were visiting the same dentist. I believe it was on a DB9 then.

He was contacted by a representative of Kate Moss who wanted to buy the plate. His price I gather included some bodily contact which she declined. No surprise there so he kept the plate.

Assuming in the USA, they can have whatever they like I think (within reason) if its not taken already.

That's correct,and iirc the same number can be issued in different states,the number belongs to the owner not the car and title can not be transferred so there's no number plate market because there not worth anything...
