Say you had a high value rare car, approx £150k.
You put it into secure storage whilst you were away. You'd heard good reports about the storage company and the person who runs it. A number of people would vouch for the owner of the storage company, but those people weren't linked to it, only they went to things that the owner organised.
You paid the storage company not just the storage costs but the money to manage things whilst you weren't in the UK...servicing and the tracker subscription.
When you tried to get hold of the storage company to say you were flying back into Gatwick soon, the person didn't answer any calls. Or return messages.
So you looked at the company accounts to find that the first company went under owing over £440k. The company that was then set up again has been struck off this week, and from speaking to people you found that the owner owes hundreds of thousands of pounds to his friends, sorry I mean victims. You heard that the storage company had sold cars on a commission basis but didn't pay all the money to the owner when he should of. He'd been thrown out of the latest storage unit for not paying any rent.
Because he hasn't paid the tracker subscription when you paid him you can't locate the car via those means. You still can't get hold of the storage company owner who doesn't answer work or personal mobiles. His mum (where he says he now lives) says he doesn't live there anymore.

Obviously not naming and shaming and would ask those people who know who it is that we are talking about not to either so this thread doesn't get deleted.

But what would you do??

1. Pay the tracking company
2. Locate and collect my car
3. Worry about the rest later

It may not work anyway but generally you can re-activate trackers if you pay a lump. I thought they'd also always look if the Police ask them.

Cut one of his mums fingers off and keep going until she says where son now lives. Then repeat with this arse wipe until your car or money is returned. Easy.

Why not name the company and alert others who may have cars in storage and not know of recent developments. Presumably this is now in the public domain, what's the issue saying something like

A car storage company based in xxxx known as yyyyyyy has recently gone into VL, Administration, Receivership. Anyone with an interest should contact zzzzzzzz

Might help others

Happening, but takes time.
What about all the other people that have lost money too.

Their problem, do you think they are worrying about you, take care of your own position before worrying about others.

If you still have the V5 in your name get down the nearest police station and report the car stolen, same with your insurance company and the DVLA although the police should do this for you.

Anyone trying to re-register your car in their name will should end up in a world of st very quickly.
