987.2 clutch replacement
Discussion
I think the clutch on my manual CS is wearing as it approaches 60,000 miles, I’m getting some mild shudder on downshifts as I come off the clutch and when pulling away I need to use a good amount of revs to keep things smooth.
Can anyone guide me on what they paid for a clutch replacement and at what mileage theirs was needed? Am I right in assuming these cars use a dual mass flywheel and that the slave cylinder should also be replaced for good measure?

My clutch lasted something like 40K, however the only sign that it was wearing was the clutch pedal getting gradually heavier. I also had judder when pulling off from a standing start that turned out to be a damaged dual mass flywheel - the part alone is over £700, so was a costly one. Otherwise at an indy it would have cost me around £650.

I've just experienced the same symptoms on my 50k 987.2 S. I'm going to wait and see on the condition of the flywheel and make a decision to replace or not. Annoyingly the 987.2 flywheels are circa £800 but the 987.1 can be had for £320! I'm booked in on Tuesday for the work to be carried out Can anyone guide me on what they paid for a clutch replacement and at what mileage theirs was needed? Let us know how you get on please. I've noticed i can hear my flywheel rattling away, it goes as the revs climb.
Will do. I dropped it off today and had to nurse it all the way to my specialist. A fraction too much power and it slipped, I bet folk has never seen a Porche accelerate so slowley I hadn't noticed any slipping at all, one day it pulled hard with no problems at all, the next it was slipping in every gear on very light loads, I was surprised it went so suddenly. My mechanic did mention that he's seeing quite a few 987/997.2's coming for clutch changes. This could just be because a lot have more miles now, but he is starting to form the opinion that the clutches are going quicker than the .1 cars. Not sure if this is because of the extra power/torque? He also believed that the pressure plate doesn't push as hard which could contribute to early, relatively, slipping as opposed to .1 cars.
He's hopefully working on it Tuesday, so I'll get the assessment of the flywheel then. If it's even slightly dodgy I've asked him to replace it. We shall see. Just annoying that a .1 flywheel is £320 and the .2 is more than double that. Oh well, hobbies are never cheap

This is the one but no UK stock at all....shipping and customs from the states is very expensive.
Ideas anyone?
