Dull colours, and an irritating leaper in an irritating place, but one owner must be pretty rare.

Doesn't say if the plate comes with it, but I suspect not as it would be worth a fair bit I'd imagine.

That is ace. As you say, unlikely with the plate but still worth it in the long run (if not now)

That is a lovely looking car, but what on earth were they smoking when they drilled holes in the bonnet a foot down from the scuttle so they could mount that awful leaper. I accept they are a matter of taste, but what a bizarre place to put it. Getting it removed and the damage fixed will not be trivial either.

Had a mk ii and a iii. Nice enough, you fall in and then crawl out. Back ends a bit lively and plenty of whine from the tranny.

Not my usual thing. But this looks rather nice. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1982-MG-Roadster-Sports-...

Buy with confidence from a dealer who goes to the trouble to put a wiki link in the description explaining bumper regulations.
Depends what lurks beneath the glossy paint...
Nice looking, though

There's also the point that this is not a ready-to-drive car, it's a restoration project which hasn;t turned a wheel or had an MOT for a decade, and is likely to swallow a significant amount of money before it is back in its prime.

I still like it though. If I could afford another resto project right now it would be very tempting.
Phrases like this worry me:

"Bought this as a project but realised I don't have time to finish it."

I usually translate that as "bought with rose tinted glasses, now realised it's a money pit"

Swap out the gammy wheels and make it sit straight and it'd be perfect.

I rather like that.

A bit over budget but I imagine there's a bit of C124 love here, especially for a E36 AMG convertible

I had one. Great fun, but they know how to rust!

Interesting one, that - it's on the USA spec. suspension, but the steel girder bumpers have been removed, so it now looks like a 4x4.

Wheels are fine and period correct - just needs Euro suspension to sort it out.

Not sure where to post this one.

Top money at a dealer, a Mercedes E240 from exactly the era they rusted and quality became a variable.

But.

Just look at it. It's been loved and cherished and could be a great family barge.
Only last week I had a ride in one of these as a taxi with intergalactic miles. Still smooth, quiet, wafty and quite well preserved.

Nice car, and nice to see them being appreciated, but 50 grand! Really?

Ad stinks of throbber even before you get to "Searchwords: Mercedes 500SEC 500 SEC 560SEC 560SEL 560 300 SE SL"

Having said that, it's a nicely polished plum.

This is a sliver over thread budget but as it's such an understated, sympathetic and subtle bit of work, I'm sure it'll find a lot of love here.
First one to tell how it's been modified wins a prize.....

That's not serious, is it? Is it?!

Guessing this is going to bust the £10k but we can dream, right?

That won't break 10k. Nowhere near.
Have a look at BV72's BL Thread - he's offloading his if you want one.
Having seen Steve Soper leave the rest of the field for dead in the touring cars race at the Donington Historic the other week these do seem to be rather undervalued compared to other 80's stuff. I guess they don't have the cachet of anything German.
went for £4300.
Fair price for a project car.
CdeG called it correctly!
