Fair price for a project car.
CdeG called it correctly!
Ooh, thanks for the name-check. Fist-pump!

Panther was an unusual car company, and made some very expensive cars at the time.

This car is a bit of a curio but looks interesting at around 8k. One thing's for sure, they ain't making them any more.

Really? I rather mourn the loss of so many of our small manufacturers, especially those that make something so different.

CdeG I'm with you - ok, they couldn't make their own doors (robbing them from BL) but when new these were something special. Their deVille (with Austin 1800 doors) was totally off the eccentric oddity scale, but compared to the plastic nailed on RR Sport specials and similar "bespoke" offerings today, it oozed class.

It oozed something, not sure if it was class, though!

Right up there with the spectacularly horrible Beauford wedding car monstrosity.

Compared to the real deal, that Beauford looks like it was made in a shed:

(OK, I'll admit to being a little disappointed when I googled for that image - not quite the elegant proportions I recall. In my defence, I was an impressionable teenager when these were current)

I had an uncle who ran a Kallista, with a Cologne V6.

They're slightly mad, a little eccentric - and a cheaper, better alternative to traditional Morgans.

Thank you Trabi. At last, a man, along with stegel, that speaks sense!

I'm not saying they were the best cars ever, but I'm glad that they existed and think that, actually, they were pretty decent at what they were doing.

There was a really interesting pitch from a Panther Owners Club bloke at last year's Silverstone Classic on the Mike Brewer stand - he came across really well and the cars are much-loved (albeit by an admittedly by a tiny fan-base!)

Looks a lot of fun to me, with possibly some wedding business on the side.

It's not that bad compared to a lot of retro styled kit cars. And to avoid confusion, we're talking about the Kallista (not Kalister as stated in the ad.) the gold car. This was Ford based while the similar earlier Lima had a Vauxhall Magnum floor pan and mechanicals. You will probably have recognised the Midget doors and screen.

I think this is the manufacturer who had bodyshells made in Korea for cheapness. He also imported shipping containers made there.....which just happened to have bodyshells inside. Free transport! biggrin
