v12, manual, restored, S1 bodywork, bored out to 6.2...

I think that S1 front end looks awful, personally.

That looks lovely.

But I am, of course, somewhat biased towards V12 convertible Jags smile

Would I lose anything stepping back a generation from my XJ8 4.0?
Der, no.

Well maybe a credit balance in your account, but who cares about that?
Agree with this. I prefer the X300 interior, it's much more old school, and perversely so dated in looks less dated. The Jaguar V8 is a good engine but the V12 is a legendary engine. Expect 15 - 17mpg as an average.

I was at a car show last week here In Bremen, Series 1 or two Turbo, rally spec, came popping and whooping around the city centre (closed off), it just looked and sounded fabulous, if I was in the UK I would seriously consider that.

Well there's something to be thankful for.
Really? I rather mourn the loss of so many of our small manufacturers, especially those that make something so different.
CdeG I'm with you - ok, they couldn't make their own doors (robbing them from BL) but when new these were something special. Their deVille (with Austin 1800 doors) was totally off the eccentric oddity scale, but compared to the plastic nailed on RR Sport specials and similar "bespoke" offerings today, it oozed class.
Right up there with the spectacularly horrible Beauford wedding car monstrosity.

All that needs is hitler standing up in the back

Not mine but see that a fellow MB club member has dropped the price on this from 8995 to 5995. The "work completed" list will make your head spin!

Blimey. 12 grand spent in the couple of years before selling it for 6. I'm hoping he isn't a financial advisor!

I wonder if it comes with the original (rare?) blue 5-spokes too? I love it apart from the after-market things.
