Don't usually get any attention on the road, but amongst meets it's gets attention. I did get lots of attention from an unmarked police car at the weekend after an enthusiastic launch from some traffic lights down a dual carriageway. Nice policeman just commented that it was "very impressive" and advised me to look at what car was next to me at the lights next time!!
Beast.
To be fair I thought the policeman was quite reasonable in the circumstances.

I get somesort of attention in my white 197, it's lower than standard being the only mods.
Never had positive comments except from other RS owners, but notice in traffic people do have a bit of a look, lots of eyes averted to the wheels (gloss black speedlines) and the brembo's. Had a few nods and thumbs up from a few french car owners, not just Renaults.
Driving-wise I have quite a number of people wanting to race me regularly, in fact within the last two days I've had a couple, don't bite though. Last weekend I was joining the A64 in York and a lad in a Leon FR pulled up next to me, revved his car a couple of times then blasted off into the distance whilst I continued pootling along.
Guess it's the boy-racer image it can give off...the cup wing being fitted next week probably won't help it tongue out

I recently picked up a rather lovely original MK2 GTI 16v

I've had lots in the past but not for 10 years plus, it gets a lot of attention more than I anticipated! I must remember not to pick my nose while sat in traffic!

I have a white Skoda Octavia VRS Estate. I get lots of attention but only from people I'm following, they constantly check their rear view mirror wondering if I'm an unmarked police car.

I get a lot of attention in the IBEX, Defender owner's wave and want to chat and have a look at it in petrol stations and car parks. Its very popular with little kids probably because it looks like a Tonka toy.

My Brabus 190E gets more attention the older it gets, years ago it was just another Red 190E now I have had people take photos as I drive pass them on the motorway.

Other drivers just avoid my Saab 9000 could be the battle scars it picked up when I hit a fallen tree a few months ago

I used to drive an E46 M3. Lot of attention from genuine petrol heads.

Sold it before Christmas and bought a Panda 100HP for commuting and as a stop gap.
Petrol heads still comment on it and it is very rare.

Wife gets a lot of attention as she is fit and drives a Mk3 Ford ST3 Wagon in red. It also has the resonator removed so sounds a bit better.

Although she did comment that her work colleagues take the piss out of her as the car Screams drug dealer, sink estate and tribal tattoos.
Go figure..

I drive a white Z4 M Sport... I'm fairly sure the majority of attention is from men hoping to see a busty blonde, they're then shocked to see a powerfully built (fat) 29 year old bloke with no hair!!

My Z4 Coupe gets quite a few looks and positive comments at petrol stations/parking.

Its quite a rare car and in a rarer colour as well and its always detailed as well and doesn't see rain/muck on the road if I can help it!

My "pimped out" Jag gets a fair amount of attention from young and old. Old people like it because its a classic shaped Jag. Young people tell me that they have never seen one like it before or they don't normally care for jags, but like this one. So far only positive reactions which is nice, the only negativity has been online.

Flamboyant Morgan has now gone.

Driving the V8 Vantage in London is like being invisible.

I drive a silver 5 series, so I'm pretty invisible. Apart from last night where it developed a loud grinding noise (hopefully just a stone in between disc and back plate!) and then I got LOTS of attention. I could have died of embarrassment.

Recently had a 991 911, white with black wheels and it got universally bad attention on the road. EVERONE trying to race me in whatever pile of crap they had and trying to out drive me by driving like a spaz (and putting everyone in harms way!). Got very little positive attention of any kind.
I get that. Had a black 997.2 C4S. Same scenario. Shame as the car was phenomenal.
Same here, 996 and just prats trying to race constantly.

The old Mazda 323 is totally invisible, despite being bright yellow.

Have had about 10 nice car for the Honda S2000 in about 5 years.

Quite a few love your car a year for the fully restored TR7 in orange.

A huge amount of attention for the Triumph TR8, with it's 330 BHP 4.6L V8 with a not loud but very deep exhaust rumble to match. I have had grandmothers, middle aged men, young men, attractive young ladies & school boys actually come up & admire it. As we never got the 8s or convertible 7s in Oz, & I never got round to fitting any badges after the paint job most have no idea what it is, & want to know what makes that beautiful noise, even the young ladies surprisingly.

I had similar experiences with my 996C4, very pretty in basalt black and all the GT3 goodies added, striking car but recieved very...'mixed' responses.
Now i'm driving a bright blue Mustang, which recieves nothing but massivley positive reactions, Public perception is a strange thing
