We've one on order, due in a fortnight, so probably being built some time around now.
Lots of toys added, but no aero kit. They looked too much like Halfords bits for our liking.
Ours will look like this....
Not my cup of tea, it's uber fast but I really don't see the appeal that is has over its cheaper rivals.
Plus the interior is just a disaster in my opinion, truly dreadful.
If I did somehow end up with one it would definitely have the rear spoiler though, I wouldn't be able to resist ticking that option box.

Oooh, you lucky bugger. Saw one at Goodwood and it looked amazing and from what I've heard of it sounds an absolute peach too. If you're ever in the Hampshire area I'd welcome a passenger ride in it
I think if I was prepared to put more savings into a car I would have made the same decision as you. We've just sold our spare car, a 147 after four years of absolutely zero issues ownership and would happily have another Alfa
It would normally be outwith my price range but I'm using a little of my inheritance. My mum was car mad and Alfas especially, so it's a little tribute to her. She made me promise it would be red though...I think if I was prepared to put more savings into a car I would have made the same decision as you. Its a full blown AMG car in the same vein as the M2 and the RS3, so its rivals are a similar price. Its faster than a Focus RS, and i think the waiting list for an RS is something like a year odd? Didnt fancy waiting that long.
Also the RS doesnt come with an auto box, so that knocked it on the head for us.
Golf R? A bit too common these days and didnt really do it for us.
Those were our buying decisions anyway.
I must have a faulty gearbox....18 months old, 35k Miles and driven almost exclusively in Sport Manual using the paddles, absolutely stunning car with instantaneous shifts up and down and has only failed to downshift a handful of times and don't recall mine ever 'skipping' gears on downshifts....mixture of roads...the car is in a different league to other hatches, the new M'it's not a hatch' 2 and the RS3 the only other participants I can think of. Only downsides squeaky-when-cold Brembo brakes (with phenomenal stopping power) and the fuel filler has opened when driving a coupe of times -otherwise, a crushingly capable all rounder

Hey it's your choice, I respect that, I hope you enjoy every second of owning it, it's just not my thing.

Was just really listing what the appeal was for us, and i guess some of those reasons might be why it appeals to others too.
Different horses for different courses and all that

Still, you should have gotten the spoiler
I hear it's mega costly though, £1600 or so
But it does include the tiny plastic bits on the front wing corners too though!I hear it's mega costly though, £1600 or so
It seemed a crazy amount of money for something that looked like a stuck on afterthough. All IMHO of course.
Then there was the carbon fibre mirrors @ £1230 which we passed on too.....
I'm not a massive fan, the interior is definitely a step up from something like a Focus RS, but I prefer the styling on the focus. Price on these it's nuts though, the BMW is a 6 cylinder, the Audi a 5 cylinder. A laggy turbo 4 just does not seem to fit, if they had shoehorned something a bit bigger in I think it would look better value

I dont think by any stretch of the imagination its "laggy".Certainly in the 30+ mins test drive we had covering cross country routes, and into urban driving we never noticed it to any degree.
Reviews by EVO etc of the revised car mention minor lag around town which they said was in line with their expectations of a heavily turbocharged car, but i dont think anyone who has driven, reviewed or owns an A45 has ever described it as "laggy".
Will update on that in a couple of weeks
Totally agree RE: the four pot though - even though it produces mental BHP, and given AMG have form in sticking disproportinately large engines into Mercedes cars, you'd have thought they could have stuck something bigger in there. The v6 twin turbo engine from the new C43 springs to mind...

I ordered mine back in August, very excited as should be getting it this month. Pretty much standard red car with no options apart from brown leather and cross spoke wheels.
Drove a friends pre facelift loved it, test drove a pre facelift and ordered a facelift on the assumption it can only be better. It may be classed as a boring drive, but it is supremely capable and I like the looks.
Sadly road fun needs to be had at normal speeds and that's what my NA MX-5 is for.
