SKIP TO PAGE 4 FOR ALL THE PICS

Hi all, i thought I'd share my 4x4 nova turbo project with you all.

I've owned the car 11 years or so and started doing this build in 2013. The original plan was to make it fwd but the plans changed during the build.

It's basically just for a bit of fun, track, street and drag.

It'll have circa 600bhp using a c20let and weigh in at under 800kg when finished. I have all the panels in carbon to help keep the weight down.

Started out like this when I got it but was rotten underneath. Used it as my first car for a year then had it sitting in my garage until 2013.

Some pics from the strip down etc

Ignore the gas bottles ?? Haha

This was the point where it was decided to go 4x4

Currrently like that at the moment. Sills need to go on, rear quarters and then finish off the welding then it'll be ready to go for paint and finally start the build. Here's a few pics of some of the parts I have to go on.

Can't find all my pics at the moment but I've got all the panels in carbon the car except for the tailgate At the moment.

Hope you guys like it so far.

Cheers

Barry

That is a great job. I really like Novas. Is it the Cavalier 4x4 transmission being used?

Thanks guys, I know novas aren't to everyone's taste so good to see some positive comments haha

Yes mate, cav turbo running gear with the 6 speed box. The transfer box is going to be the weak link but I do have a locked box for it so hopefully it holds up!

Biggest regret with the build was not spaceframing the front end. It was done around a year before the 4x4 was planned though and parts cost to much to justify cutting them back off. Hey ho I guess.

Amazing sheet metal work! What sort of time frame are these pics taken over?

More spaceframe than Nova but kudos for the effort going in; that's a very impressive build.

Also bookmarked smile

I am firmly not a fan of Vauxhalls and especially not of the inevitable Barry'd Nova's and Corsa's.... However this I like. smile

Man do I feel inadequate when I see projects like this. Seriously impressive. thumbup

I had 3 Novas as my first cars and remember them fondly.

Thanks for all the nice comments it's much appreciated!

The pics from when the front end was cut off was at the start of 2014 and the floor was out in by around the start of 2015. Not too much has been done this year at all due to being busy.

Unfortunately I can't take credit for the sheet work as it wasn't me. Hoping to see the car come on a good bit in the next month or so. All the hard work is done now really.

Yeah I know novas have a bit of bad rep but hopefully people can look past that with this haha it's just for a bit of fun at the end of the day smile

I've got heaps and heaps of pics so I'll stick more up when I get a few minutes.
