String to open the doors?
The one Lotus had was a pre prod car. No door cards and panel gaps bigger than on the production series cars if such a thing is possible!!
Not sure if Lotus had any involvement or if they were just borrowing it from Alfa to put miles on it. Back then then are all sorts of cars that Lotus had some involvement with floating round. E.g. Zr1 , issuzu piatza etc

Just remembered, I was going to say this back in November but forgot the names of the places; if you're ever doing this kind of trip, I'd *highly* recommend checking whether the Glenelg - Kylerhea ferry is running and go that route instead. The road to Glenelg is a hidden gem. I stumbled across this video some time back which made me aware of the road - and the video doesn't quite do it justice because you can't really see the scenery properly. However, you can absolutely sit for 8 mins or so listening to a Porsche V8 rumble its way around lovely Scottish scenery. You're welcome wink
