As we all love an XJ-S, how about the house to go with it?

The house used in the original publicity pics is up for sale

for a mere 300 times top thread budget

(disgruntled-looking totty not included)
The car is on stilts, and she looks like you've just cracked a knob gag and farted as the punchline.

Gorgeous house. Why haven't we built many, many more like that?

Dare I say it's a bit more feminine in atmos? Certainly less demanding of attention, and projecting of strength and aggression.

Very clever. Great house - I love it even without the Jag connection; one for the Property Pawn thread?

Because it's disgusting.

Well, that's my position on it, but there seems to be a negative correlation between attractiveness and liking knob gags and farting.

I dearly love them both, so that's not good news for my own personal magnetism.

Haha. I genuinely lol'd, at that!
I've found my next house. £270k near my home town, out of the way enough to never see the dreaded 'Nike Air Maxes' but close enough to be within reach. 4 bedrooms, double fronted, square layout top and bottom with 2 acres and a lake.

What is the general consensus on these?

I realise that it won't be for everyone in pensioner blue with light leather, but this looks like conspicuous good value to me.....

For £270k? What's your home town, Mogadishu?

The sensible North West smile
Proper North West, not like Manchester NW.

E55 AMG in budget. I thought that was a thing of the past. MOT history doesn't look too bad either.

I believe performance could best be described as adequate by today's standards but they are very capacious.

Dubious comment possibly regarding borked climate 'in the summer I drive with the windows open so I can hear the roar of the V8'

I much prefer modern houses on the inside. The exterior is special in a good way.

Marvellous.

Usually the girls in the Jaguar ads are less dour; although always quite serious and elegant. Irritatingly I can't find any on the internet.

No! It's wonderful on the inside. I absolutely love it. So of its period and really cool. Like a time machine.

I hate most modern houses.

Jag XJ8 air con update: if you remember I got KwickFit to refill the car. 24 hours later it was back to being warm again.

A month and a bit ago I used one of those reseal kits from Halfords (I go for all the best brands) and a can of dodgy looking refill stuff. It went really cold, and I am sure it's getting colder as time goes on!

Even by modern standards they're more than adequate, especially mid range from 60mph it still shifts.

Little to no mention of SH either, unless I skimmed over it.
A nice car, even with 'taxi' interior, nonetheless.

OT now, but in a real sense, the interior of that house, despite being 50 years old, is more 'modern' than the new houses we will build this year.

That house was cutting-edge, but at some point it was decided that it wasn't the direction we wanted, and so we went backwards instead. Except to small rooms and low ceilings, and cheesy mock Tudor / Georgian type affectations. Taylor Wimpy and the rest just build low-impact, low-energy, low-objection vanilla tribute acts to a performance none of us were alive to see.

But that house was the real thing. Something actually new. A Citroen DS in wood and concrete. I'd give my eye-teeth to live there (not Kenilworth).

TLDR: Jetsons.
