Cheers!

Barge people, am I on the money with the price or should I be asking more/less? Input appreciated!
If anything i would say you are under.
There are a lot of very tatty "classics" out there for much more money than that.
If i were you id be firm on that price.

I wouldnt be at all surprised if someone has that and flips it on for a bit more.
I hesitated to answer - but I also feel you are under.

You might not have many bites at a bit more, but the buyer you are looking for isn't buying on price. He's like me: he wants that w124.

You are unnecessarailly cheap at the moment: it just reduces your sale price rather than increasing your probability of selling.

You can always go down - you can't ever go up!

In my opinion. smile
Thanks for the advice! What do you think I should advertise at? Also, could you critique my advert please? I have it advertised on here too, with more photos. I am wondering if photos of the car completely disassembled are a wise idea!

Thanks again :-)

I second Oa and the guys on this: would be top of thread budget, maybe more, imho.

I'm using the Oa principle in pricing my s124: you only need one person to appreciate what you've done with it...

'lexuschap' does have a new eBay I'd, but that's not him. Wrong area.

I can't remember his new eBay name.

I've gone £1500 over budget... might be reachable with a very strong haggle... however, this is a great example of an awful lot of car, dropping ever closer towards top-thread budget as the days go by. Very comprehensive advert, dozens of very good images and what looks like a very detailed service history.

A near 400 bhp, leather-clad, bell & whistle laden wafter, and also bomb-proof..?

I'll wager someone else has already taken the hit of a very high % of all the depreciation this car will ever see.

like that too, but if that seller is linked to 'LexusChap' a quick Google may prove prudent
"A credit to it's previous owner who was a doctor"

What difference does the previous owners profession make. I know plenty of doctors and they rag most of the cars they own like they stole them.

Surprised they didn't try the whole "owned by a nun, who only drove it on Sunday" line

some owners are chavvy wee s that spend the money in halfords on stick on tat, stupid alloys and other modifications, Being a doctor would suggest they need the car for work and are more responsible and will have a book full of reciepts and not run it on 4 different brands of deathtyres and skip the servicing.

As a doctor I would love to say the stereotype of responsible ownership was true but most of my colleagues are not the most conscientious of owners. I would suggest that someone who looked to buy a more expensive vehicle such as that Lexus may have at least gone for the 'whatever the dealer said was required ' approach to maintenance.

Bring out your brave pills.

Slightly iffy W12 Phaeton in budget.

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2017...

If you were a VW specialist, and could get that for £3K, that'd be a good buy.
Not a bad number plate, either, in the grand scheme of things.
Could be the 5 ECU's that need to talk to one another, or something mechanical. Brave, but what a buy.

To you those are just a set of alloy wheels. Meh. But you aren't a Gerald.

If you were, you'd know that those are the rare and sexy 17" Meteor wheels. Second only to the Serpent in the Rover 75 Alloy Wheel Dream Team Hall of Fame.

Ownership of a pristine set of one or the other is basically a hygiene factor when it comes to attaining a treasured place on The Committee of any regional Rover 75 owners club.

But you aren't a Gerald, so the wonders of this world will remain a mystery to you. Ha.
he doesn't lie, £150 for a crappy set

Drove the e500 estate Bristol to the Isle of Wight and back yesterday and to west wales and back today loaded with kids and clobber. It really is a consummate all rounder.

Comfort mode for the motorway schlep and then changed to sport 2 setting for the twisties. Returned 26mpg which is good for the rapid progress I made.

It handled the heavy rainstorms extremely well with very effective wipers and lights. It feels safe and is easy to drive at pace. I'm liking it a lot.

Over budget... but could be haggled down with a low ball?

It's been on sale for bloody YEARS... £17,000, £15,000, £12,000, £11,000, £10,000 now £8,995.

Every time I see it I do a little wee, (especially the beautifully garish interior), but it's so bloody borktastic that I can't bring myself to.

Someone should offer £7,000 and buy it, you will be my forever hero.

Been under all sorts of number plates, including the excessively dodgy W13 BUY...... be my hero and buy the fking thing

New springs/struts at 110k odd of Irish roads (so possibly very little motorway use) isn't unreasonable. £2500 for three of them is though!

Ah - so WHY won't it sell? After all it's (purportedly) a £163k car!

I'm no fan of a braaaannnn interior, and apart from that it's only the practicality of a LWB that would make me hesitate .....

I love the interior. So garish, it's fking beautiful.. it's like a girl so plastic, she's natural wink

It's sublime.... if only I had enough brave pills to, and a canister full of cyanide to use when it goes wrong... probably about 5 m away from the dealership

Oh man, I love it!

I don't even care about the bork factor and potential for ruinous bills.

In a year or two when I'm after a wafty barge, something like this is right at the top of my list.

Harrumph.

It's a shame they are so few in number; and those that are available never are interestingly coloured and specified.

I still look at the Stansted car every five minutes.
