Spending more on a better one would probably be cheaper in the end.
I'm sure. I thought that since I had a nice interior and original stereo to go into it perhaps it was a bargain for those reasons as its not exactly an optimal spec as it stands, but unfortunately the rest of it wasn't anything to get excited about either!

Woop woop new barge day. "Won" (I love that term) on EBay, unseen of course, now undertaking long and stinky train ride to collect with the usual mix of excitement and mild trepidation of discovering just what the seller forgot to disclose.

You're worried about a 30k mileage discrepancy on a 160k+ tramps hut ?
laugh

it's just the thought of why bother as 160-130 makes no sense to me, which makes me think what else has been done - you're right though at that price I spose none of that really matters.

As he says approx 133,000 he might have just guessed or it could have had a replacement instrument binnacle since the last MOT , nobody clocks £1000 cars

It cost me £700 to make this reliable. Most of that was replacing the distributer and all the leads.

124 - it's an early one - no A/C, heated seats though!

Gold with brown looks awesome. My 300te-24 is the same colours. Its with "the man" right now getting bodywork done. I'm really looking forward to having it back!

Mines back on Ebay, the CLS, one buyer didnt fit due to being a bit powerfully built and the other passed even though he couldn't fault the car, if it doesn't grab you doesn't make sense to buy it, so its still available, its easy to find, not sure of the rules on touting your own stuff but people did express an interest.
By Jove that looks a fine vehicle and amazing value for money. I'd give you 5K right now sight unseen. Someone needs to buy my Trophy first though which I suppose would entail me marketing it biggrin.

edit to add:a friend of mine, a crazed steroid addled bodybuilder weighing over 20 stone said his CLS was the most comfortable vehicle he'd owned so I dread to think what your 'powerfully built' prospective buyer was like.

I have a CLS. I'm 6ft 5 and 21 stone (very powerfully built, not fat) I don't have the seat at anywhere near its backstop so to say it didn't fit is a smokescreen for the real reason.

On the subject of the car, does anyone know a suspension specialist in the London or Surrey area as i'm sure mine isn't right.

It's not the air set up but the ride just feels far too harsh.

I almost bought a CLS500 a few years back; found the seat-wheel-pedals alignment dreadful.

Check the rear springs - the front ones let go with a bang and car sits on its bump stops, but not the rears. I'm only 14st and clearly lack some mechanical empathy but the garage discovered both rears were broken when a front one let go - replacing them did improve the ride!

J4CKO can I ask what head unit that is? I've dipped my toe into an android replacement for my W211, but it's not great. That one looks decent.

Probably going to look at this on Saturday. Am after a non silver or black 211 wagon. Ideally wanted sunroof, Harmon Kardon, air suspension and heated seats. This one has sunroof, wood and leather wheel and rear blinds. MB history til 2015.

Have had 2 previous 211's (straight 6 and V6 320's) but not had a petrol. Any issues??
