You seem very angry - in a way that is going to make someone drive off scared.

I've seen this in a petrol station. Bloke drove into a car. Teenage girl get's out and turns into Vicky Pollard.

Get's nowhere. Calm down. You were not knocked off, you had a close escape. Swap details. move on and breath.

the above poster was clearly just posting links from different youtube accounts and pasting their titles - "me" isn't referring to his actual self smile

I thought that clip was from 1974 until I saw the 64 plate, the camera might have been from 1974 though

I always think if your horse is not safe on the road beacuse it's scared of traffic then don't take it on the roads.
If my dog was scared of fireworks i wouldn't take it to a fireworks show.
Idiot biker/idiot (illegal ?) exhaust.....and you think the horse/rider is the problem ?
I am not saying the biker wasn't a idiot he was for revving, but this idea some horse riders have of thinking they can just jump on a horse that is dangerous on the road and then demand everyone around them to do as they say is just bullst.
I know - how dare they expect other drivers/riders to obey the Highway Code ? ( https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-code/road-... )

The horse was fine, until the biker revved like a muppet.

I always say, if you don't like what country folk do, then stay out of the country.

I've lived 'down country roads' in a number of locations.
Driving past horses in an un-silenced TVR has never caused a problem. (It does occasionally set off car alarms though hehe)
I also ignored anyone waving or shouting from horse top (extremely rare). There are some real loonies out there, fortunately very much in the minority.
It's about reasonable respect for other road users.

I have to say, the woman in the clip seemed a 'silly shouty one'. But yes, the biker was a first class tt.

I don't get why you would want to ride a horse on public roads if you're going to be constantly stressed about other vehicles. And as for that silly essex girl ^ HGV driver on the A13.... I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would want to cut up a HGV and have several tons of metal inches away from your rear bumper. I always tuck behind.

How many riders do you know that "jump on a horse".....ffs man, the vast number know the dangers and are well trained riders/horses.
Maybe you think you just go get a (many many £1000's of pounds) horse and go road riding ?

That is a country road, country things populate it, the drivers are duty bound to respect that.
On the flipside of that coin, it's sunny. morning and probably a weekend so expect the roads to be busier, and if the roads around you are good expect to see bikes and cars.

Flipside of that, what did she do to rile the biker? "shouting" slow down, which he will not have heard will achieve nothing was what did she do to provoke him?

Usually, on my bike, I flick the kill switch and coast by horses when safe to do so, or if have to pull over to let them go by I turn off.

Seems a six of one half dozen of the other, provoking by a horse rider on a very nervous horse which should spend more times on quieter roads, but as much as I dislike horses and their riders lets be sensible as it takes fk all to spook a horse and if it bucks the rider off, least is some bruising the worst is death or being paralysed, simple case of don't be a dick really.

The reason I submit the video links as separate posts is so that people can comment on an individual video. Makes it easier for a PHer to quote the relevant video. Just trying to help. rolleyes

If I were to amalgamate my posts then I guarantee after a few weeks someone will ask me to post the links separately - sometimes you just can't win.

Anyway, let's get back to the countless pages of debate/disagreement with regards to the horse on the road, the Morgan/stting Peugeot and how many degrees does it take for a car to go round a roundabout...
