OMG!! Why are people like this allowed on the road at all! I hope this was forwarded to the police and FBI and he will be prosecuted for dangerous driving, illegal picking up and driving with a taped up window. People could have died!

Freedom to jump red lights? Freedom to leave the scene? Freedom to cause pile-ups by leaving the motorway at the last possible second?

I'm not sure those are actually freedoms allowed for in our systems of law are they?
Presumably those who think dashcams will police our road wouldn't report any sort of crime to the authorities?

I've asked before in another thread why something better hasn't been invented yet to warn that your vehicle is to high for the oncoming low bridge...
Another poster pointed this out, probably way to expensive to implement everywhere, great idea though smile

I thought the truck heights were displayed in the cab, used to be the case. That being the case, how do these incidents happen?

Most of the trucks which hit the bridge are only just overheight- perhaps they get used to fitting under other bridges which also have lots of warning signs but which are actually a few inches higher.
Doesn't explain the clown who saw it was too low for him, went the other way, turned around off camera, and drove into the bridge. Perhaps he was having a really bad day and did it on purpose!

Possibly due to swapping vehicles, or, as with any of the other videos on here, a lack of concentration etc.

Lot of rental trucks involved so possibly not experienced drivers.

Height varies depending on the trailer, our trailers are between 14'3" and 16'00". It's up to the driver to change their in cab height marker for each trailer they take but really, they don't. Trailers should have their height marked up on them and it's up to the driver to familiarise themselves before taking it out.

They happen because the drivers are retarded. There's really no excuse for a bridge strike, ever.

As we all know from this thread there are many many DCW who pretty much bait people todo something, instigating the situation, entraping people? whilst I appreciate they can be benefical, and the red light jumper posted was a complete twunt, and deserved the fine/points its something that will be abused imo by petty indiviuals.

Police car totally in the wrong. I'm not sure of the wisdom of repeatedly flashing your lights at anyone though, let alone a police car. A single flash to say hello I'm here would have sufficed. DCW should just send the footage to the relevant police force and let them deal with it.
