Someone needs to go to Specsavers!

Passing the black car parked near the junction.

There's one there (a little further back) in Streetview: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.5530566,0.617182...

One of the biggest clues about a give way in those circumstances is the huge triangle painted on the tarmac in front of you. If there are parked cars obscuring the triangle, then the risk that someone doesn't spot the junction will increase. What's more important, apportioning blame, or taking steps to reduce risk?

The give way sign-on-a-stick is clearly visible in that image, even if it is five years ago. If that was obscured or missing, then the Highway Code's rules on unmarked crossroads would still apply.

Watching the car after it was hit, I'm wondering if the driver had a moment of panic and floored the throttle instead of the brake. Even after it gets stuck in the fence it's still trying to move forward.

Met Mr Angry passenger this afternoon on my commute home. They were attempting to drive against the flow of traffic up a clearly marked one-way street.

You would think the 2 big NO ENTRY signs would be a bit of a clue:

So, can anyone tell me what I did wrong here - except the swearing.

It's a give way, I gave way, I waited till I could make it across the yellow box. I have no way to see the opposing traffic's lights, so have no idea they are about to go, then they floor it and try to attack me horns blaring. I'm lost.

Not the best road layout, I do see a turn right arrow on the floor, sure you can go straight ahead at that junction?

I'm guessing the drivers on your left saw a green light and automatically assumed you had jumped a red. Maybe they need reminding Green means go if clear not green means floor it and if you hit something its not your fault.

What a pair of knobs. I love how, while trying to turn around, he can't even get close to cars behind him because he doesn't have a clue where the back is...

He seems like a nice chap.

Particularly enjoyed the 72 point turn as well. Great driving skills all round.

It's a right turn lane to go the way I went. I agree, bad layout. The give way should be a traffic light to avoid conflict in the yellow box. This morning some poor sod got stuck halfway into the box blocking one lane when everyone took off to get the next 30 feet to the next red light.

Citroen hit the back of the turning Renault, the wreck came over to our side, I initially went left hard on the brakes and realised she was still coming over to us, then I went right and narrowly missed the Golf.

What does an indicator tell you?

The bulb is working.

Trust indication or lack of it at your peril.
