What?
if he been closer to the car in front he wouldn't have been hit.
Can't tell from the video as can only see forward, even right up the back of the car in front he might have still been hit.

Anyway, hardly the point is it though? Not their fault either way, sub-second dawdle or not.
Mine was bit of a throw away comment, but it does look like Mr DCW, was deliberately slow off the mark, either busy watching the old dear having difficulties or just hanging back, being difficult like many clips on here.

Don't know about you but if I was in that situation, I'd sit back before the exit or get as far forward clearing the car park exit - out of courtesy as well as self preservation.

Agree, other driver to blame given the circumstances.

One just popped up on the local paper this afternoon, couple of scrag ends crossing where they shouldn't / not properly looking as there probably drugged up.... driver did well plus some ABS help, it could have been very different

According to the article the driver was a right turn only lane as he sped through

Huh? 100% the fault of the driver in the white car.

Not looking properly, drugged up, on the phone etc etc.

Guessing the Focus driver sped up and used the 'right turn only' lane to get in front of everyone at the lights. Fortunately luck was on his side as it could have cost dearly

How do we know he wasn't going to turn right before some numpty appeared from behind a car crossing the road? Yes he was going a little quickly but there is a pedestrian walk way for a reason. I guess without speaking to everyone involved we will never know! biggrin

Don't be daft, he would never have made a right turn at the speed he was going. He was driving like a prick. Green means go IF SAFE TO DO SO. It wasn't.

Not exactly driving but riding... And some people wonder why others hate cyclists.

Yes. He also went through that last red light and cut up both lanes of traffic... biggrin

Someone will be along soon to say you must have doctored that footage because cyclists never do any of those things. biggrin

Nice attitude, so you drive round countless road closed signs then drive at twice the temp limit because you have the hump. It's there to lessen the danger to the poor s who have to work, but your journey is obviously far more important than potentially someone's life. Well done.
It was in place because of some temporary lights. Admittedly, not in a place for good visibility. Didn't cause me any issues though, because I don't go hammering into a stretch of road I can't see. There's no excuse for a 30 limit to be in place for a mile before and after the hazard. Like I say, if the limit is ridiculous, it's ignored. I'd probably still have observed it if I was alone, but other vehicles weren't going to observe it either. If I obeyed it, the outcome would be somebody trying to overtake me right where the traffic lights were, no doubt.

Funnily enough, I saw a female cyclist go two miles along Great Western Road in Glasgow today without stopping at a single red light - including a couple of pedestrian crossings.

Never understood why bikers do this.

By damaging/destroying the offside wing mirror - they are limiting the driver's visual aids and making it far more dangerous for themselves and other road users.

I guess safety is a secondary consideration to youtube hits though - huh!
Driver wasn't using it anyway.
