YEAH IM GONNA PUNISH st DRIVING WITH EQUALLY st DRIVING...THATLL LEARN EM!!!!!! AND IF THEY MOUTH OFF I WILL SCREAM IN MY HIGH PITCHED MUMMIES VOICE CAMERA MATE, CAMERA, I GOT A CAMERA ....

Or just read the road and defensively anticipate other drivers actions, slotting in behind them, where you can easily see them, rather than having the idiot behind you.
I would rather have a dithering and erratic driver behind me and out of harms way than trying to second guess what bit of spontaneous fkwittery they come up with next.

Generally agree, until they dither into the back of you.

Exactly, keep them in front unless you can really make your escape.

By definition ditherers will be fannying about way behind you- and I'm no Stirling Moss!

This was on the sidebar of the RS3 crash video, don't think I've seen it in the thread before.

S3 and dirt bikes in shortest race ever:

I think the grass verge and the ditch helped them walk away. The fact they're walking at all following this is pretty amazing tbh. Had there been trees/posts/a fence this would have been a very different story.

Sure, if we just pretend that traffic / junctions / traffic lights don't exist.

Well, yeah, this is another course of action which would be acceptable. Thing is, you're then at the mercy of the idiot. They control the speed and you're pretty much stuck with them for as long as they choose. With the harmless (if technically unlawful) overtake, you dictate the circumstances about you, you almost certainly make more swift progress and it costs nothing more than a sensible reading of the road (no, I shouldn't cross a solid line, but no harm will come of it if, in these exact circumstances, I do) and a couple of ounces of fuel.

It's horses for courses. I don't believe either course of action is more worthy of merit than the other, but mine will get you home quicker. All things being equal, I'd be happy with my choice.

There is absolutely no expectation on my part that you will change your choice. I'm comfortable that we see things differently.

Jeez! Dont read so much into it. On the balance of probabilities they are less likely to cause you trouble if put behind you.

I like the Scotch guys approach to the problem of the road rage hard man in the Jeep. Be more aggressive than him right from the start. It took the wind out of his sails.

Alternatively, maybe you should read more into it.

Think about it, if they are in front, unless they suddenly reverse into you, they can't do anything towards you. You can control the situation by hanging back, so no matter how much they swerve or stomp on the brakes unnecessarily it won't cause you any problems and you have the option of changing route to get away from them.

If you are in front, you have much less control. All you can do is speed up and try escape, but that isn't always practical (or legal).

What happens at 10.05? Electronic handbrake malfunction?

Looks like a build up of traffic in L3, appears the Golf was late to react and somehow locked up. If there was a handbrake malfunction I wouldn't expect the driver to be able to move after sliding to a stop.

HOWEVER the sound effects provided by the driver/passengers are excellent! "Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa WHOA!" *applaudes*

Could it be something to do with the brake bias sensor, car looks lowered, bias sensor thinking more weight on rear & giving rear brakes more 'power' assuming weight/grip there?

Probably totally wrong.

Local rag panders to HorseCam Warrior:

http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/cambridge-new...

That's the worst bit of footage she could come up with to illustrate her point? Horse barely reacting to someone giving plenty of space & doing no more than high 30s in an NSL? Note smug cry of "camwuh!". Personally I would have gone past at less than half that speed, but still - NOT NEWS.
