That is one serious bit of kit! Even if it doesn't manage a 6:30, just to beet the production car record will be an achievement given the difference in size/budget of SCG vs Porsche...
Thanks. At the last N24 our C beat the factory 911.
MB, BMW, Porsche and Audi will be tough to beat this
year but we will give it our best.

Good grief - just what is the point of 'Ring records.

I am just not interested in the continued development of consistently fast, competent cars that can deal with odd cambers and bumpy surfaces. I live in London, like all PH readers, and therefore this car could never be used in the real world. I mean, does anyone in the world ever drive over 80mph anyway? This is just about pub bragging rights.

Am I doing this right?
I think this flew quite far over a few heads... You could have added you would rather have (insert current trend car here, let's say a Porsche 911 variant)
yes I would rather have a 911 gt4 with the bare essentials, i.e. half cage, fire extinguisher, cup kit with extended leather and Bang und Wilkins audio. Or I might be tempted by a BMW competition pack M4 GTS, the one that drives less like it has a live rear axle.

Finishing positions -

9) Falken Motorsports Porsche 991 GT3 R
13) Wochenspiegel Manthey Porsche 911 GT3 R
15) Black Falcon TMD Friction Porsche 991 GT3 Cup
16) Manthey Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R
19) Frickadelli Racing Porsche 991 GT3 Cup
21) Kremer Racing Porsche 997 KR
23) Manthey Racing Porsche Cayman GT4

26) Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG003C

Your definition of 'beat' differs from mine if you say your car beat the Porsches.

Great to see you do this but imo it's a race car masquerading as a road car really and is much more comparable with the Radical SR8 that did a 6:48 at the 'ring a good many years ago than a 918.

We beat The Factory Porsche that was in our class finishing first in our class. (If you back out the time we spent in the pit replacing a turbo failure, the cause of which has been solved we would have finished in the top 5) We realize finishing in the top 10 at the 2017 N24 will be a challenge but in 2012 we also Won The FIA Alternative Energies Championship Cup with our P 4/5 CM something The Porsche Factory Hybrid failed to do so you never know.

The politics of The Ring and the classes and BOP are what they are but this year we're feeling a bit more hopeful even though the rumors say it's BMW's turn.

At a VLN at The Ring we did finish 2 OA. Fit and Finish Wise our S is a LOT closer to a 918 than an SR8. Don't think those have Sat NAV on their dash screens and bespoke leather interiors.

It certainly looks a beast of a car. Hats off to you for developing something like that. You must love cars. Out of interest do you drive one as a daily driver ?

just to clarify my position...I think the car and the record attempt is bloody amazing, I wish all involved success and a huge pile of scary driving fun. If you ever need a driver/engineer type person in Germany to help you out I am there, free of charge too.

Only see 3 cars in the class SP-X in the 24h, 2 of yours and the Manthey Racing GT4 which finished ahead of you unless I'm mistaken and there were more class in the SP-X class?
