I dislike the design of the lower rear skirt. The same 'wedgie' feature appears on the RRS, presumably to visually pinch the rear, but it is even more prominent here and the way it cuts the pipe vents is a touch inelegant.

Great, another species of bully wagon coming (very) close to your rear bumper on Hale Road...

Still pushing diesels in this day and age. No mention of a hybrid when this is labelled as a new platform.
Looks like an i4 hybrid is on the way but not a launch model

As well he should be. That's one of the best interiors I've ever seen and a master class on how to integrate screens. MB/Audi I'm looking at you...
Good point... MB / Audi & others (Kia) with the iPad mounted on the dash... WTF. Looks a total joke.

yes That centre console looks great but will be a fingerprint magnet when not lit up.

Jolly good. Many thanks.

We must be reaching the point the owners hedge themselves and move some production abroad.
They already build in China, India and Brazil and the new Slovakian factory will be open by end of 2018

It's just a rebadged slightly tweaked F-Pace, isn't it.

I was at the launch tonight and have to say that this is a seriously good looking car but the interior, in particular, is genuinely fabulous. The tech interface moves the game on (for the first time with JLR) but the architecture and choice of contemporary materials is genuinely stunning. If I didn't need more room I'd order one straight away.

This will sell loads!

Looks weird. The windows are tiny for such a big car.

Also weird how the front seems to be aimed up, the boot aimed down yet the window crease is horizontally straight.

No doubt it will sell though and the interior does look very nice!

Door handle porn smile

The profile is indeed very F-Pace-ish.

It's nice to see some smoothing and nice design touches, to replace the boxy bling of some recent models.

Not sure they're my thing, but won't mind seeing them about.

But I'm sure there'll be an option to have it painted black / body coloured?

Either that, or a vey expeensive 'Sport Design' type of lower body treatment.

We've already taken a coupe of orders on the Velar. The first was last month before official launch. There is a definite opening for the Velar. Our most popular selling Evoques' are the SE Tech and HSE. The latter tends to top out around the £45,000 mark with options. The £40,000 tax banding is going to bring some Evoque customers down a trim level to save on the VED, whilst it's a big call to jump to a £50,000 HSE Luxury (or more for an Autobiography) given the market perception of the Evoque and the compromises in terms of cabin space and boot etc. We have lost customers elsewhere because there isn't a Range Rover product in the £45,000 - £60,000 banding.

I like it, but it seems to be a direct rival for the RRS, which is somewhat confusing.

The price range seems somewhat bonkers too. £45k upto £110k, for the same car with just a different engine and optional extras?

Looks great, but I don't really get it.
