As always, love your updates. The essence of the thread
Glad you still enjoy them, more to come later...Huracan Avio, 250 examples, I'm guessing this may be #98...
The original Mini Paul Smith Edition was launched at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1997: google suggests there were two pinstripe cars completed - the colours don't seem to match with this one, so I suspect it is a recreation...
Can't quite work out what has been done to this one...

Oh man, you always deliver For me, this E60 is the prize. It’s never really been substantiated for sure anywhere but most websites say only 12 were ever made. But I think that’s just the internet: things get printed in one place, then repeated everywhere else until it becomes ‘fact’.
The only one I’ve ever seen (and pictured) was the one that used to be parked up in an NCP in Bayswater. I think AMGs of this era just have so much more charm, and because they were built in tiny numbers, greater cachet.
Looking forward to the next drop!

I believe AMG Japan turned out a reasonable number of E60s, but that there were only a handful of European spec E60s made...and that the European spec cars are worth significantly more as a consequence.
But I am sure there are others who know much more than me...

That reg comes up on .gov.uk as a silver Ferarri so it seems legit but it looked very odd.
I'm annoyed that I didn't get my phone out in time as I've never seen anything like it!

I suspect there are more than 12 - there are 3 for sale here!

There was an ex Japan blue black metallic / black leather E60 with the 3 piece AMG alloys on display at MB World Brooklands last year.

And a 1950 something Citroen Light 15 to the right!
Did i miss something special? Dammit... There was a gorgeous Saab across from it I did snap though.
I suspect I stumbled upon a 'Meet'.
There was a guy with a nasal accent talking about "what We call mass produced luxury cars."
Oh. The Saab. Aye.

Don’t forget not to count any Coupe variants. Saloon only. Different body code as you’re likely away.
Truth is no one probably knows because it doesn’t look like anyone kept firm records simply due to looser relationship between AMG and Daimler at the time. In terms of limited editions cars from major brands the only stuff that looks nailed on numbers wise - from that era - is Alpina. Down to our Seek, is that

Tuners like AMG also produced according to customer requirements. That meant that there were no firm packages but mix-and-match, where also used cars received partial or full upgrades at a later date.tigerkoi said:

Where's that blushing smilie? The funny thing is that the factory sync'd their production figures with mine a few years ago. I've been in touch with amongst others Ruf about similar work on their production but I'm afraid I don't have the bandwidth.

As I suspect you may know, in the late ‘80s, AMG had a factory in Saitama, just north of Tokyo, purely to serve demand from the Japanese market.I believe AMG Japan turned out a reasonable number of E60s, but that there were only a handful of European spec E60s made...and that the European spec cars are worth significantly more as a consequence.

Great background info about the factory in Saitama. Didn't know that.
