Cheating a little, as A) may or may not be a supercar (although I'd say it is) and B) it's what an old friend has just bought. An AMG GTC. He came over last night, and I took this photo at the pub down the road from me. Went out in it for a 10 minute hoon, and bloody hell, it was savage! Made all the more scary that the roads were wet, and he was pressing on. Oh, and WHAT a noise cloud9

There is not a single element of that, inside, outside or under the bonmet that I find even slightly attractive.

And sounds like a three-year-old doing fart noises with his armpit.

Behave. Have you heard one up close? They arrived at the pub just before me, other friend had said we're coming over in his new car, and I said 'don't tell me, let it be a surprise' We pulled up and I said 'very nice!!', he said 'start it up and give it some revs' chucking me the keys. I did, and most the men in the pub were outside within 10 seconds wanting a listen. It sounds incredible.

Yes I have. I don't like any of AMGs current engines range as they all sound really childish. The fact that a load of blokes in a pub like it and I fon't doesn't mean I'm misbehaving.

See also Jaguar F-type.

Perhaps. But you're also cluttering up a decent thread, so please start your own 'I don't like AMG' thread and leave this one alone.

We currently have a 5.0 V8 XK on the drive and it makes me chuckle every time it gets fired up (especially at 6am when someone is going out to work in it) and my dad recently got given a V6 F Type for the day because he was thinking about changing it.

The difference in sound in terms of volume was embarrasing to be honest. The XK sounds powerful and reserved but menacing and the F Type is like a yappy dog. it was a nice sound for all of about 10 seconds then it got tiresome, couldn't imagine it on a long drive, much as I love the car, the XK is better.

Don't usually do this but ran the Reg out of interest to see what singers get registered as, rather weirdly that comes back to a McLaren 540c, registered in 1992!

is it not the V8 F-type which everyone goes on about sounding good... didn't think it was the V6. However clearly their sounds will be quite different anyway, as those 2 cylinders make a huge difference on whichever engines.

Out of curiosity, I did the same and it comes back as Porsche 911.
